Trying to play the game with the Oculus SDK doesn't work
I bought the game on SteamVR but am trying to switch the SDK to Oculus via the in-game settings. Whenever I change the setting, the visuals disappear from the headset (though they still exist on the monitor); sounds also still work. I ended up forcing the Oculus SDK by using the mouse to accept the changes and forced a restart figuring that would fix the issue. Nope.

Obviously I can re-install Talos to fix this and get it working with the SteamVR SDK, but that's not a good enough solution because it was running extremely choppy on my 1080ti.

find strvrapi line and change its value back to SteamVR, should look like this:
strvrapi = SteamVR;

This will make the game use SteamVR api again without needing to reinstall the game.

As far as performance goes, game should not be working choppy on 1080ti. Try setting performance settings to lowest to see if it makes a difference. If it does, try to isolate which setting is causing issues, if any particular setting is to be blamed. Otherwise you can send us the log file, and we can look at it to see if we can see anything suspicious in it (but chances are slim). It should be in the folder “<steaminstallation>\steamapps\common\The Talos Principle VR\Log”. It is just a text file, so you can open it with any text editor. You can use Pastebin or any such service to post the log here.

When I saw the Oculus SDK option I immediately switched. I can play for about 2 min before what you described above happens to me. Sometimes visuals cut out and come back immediately, sometimes they're out for good. Removing the HDMI cable and reinserting it will bring back video, but again for about 2 min.

I'm going to switch back to Steam and see if that helps, but thought I'd mention it here. Not having other performance issues.
