SR3 Crashes at Co op/applying settings.

I bought SR3 so I could play co-op with my girlfriend, only to find out it crashes every time I try to do anything. I've read though the "fix it" guide three times, fixed the -1 error, turned off anti virus, updated directx, and all my drivers. I'm not sure where to go from here? I can't run it in windowed mode because it crashes anytime I apply the settings via game, and i've reinstalled it and run the "steam integratity check" three times each.


I'm currently using an AMD FX-Six Core Processor, Windows 8 (64 bit) with 10gs of ram, and an AMD Radeon HD 7450. I can't see why this would cause a problem, and I should be able to run it just fine. I've run alot better games than this. Plus my girlfriend is using a Intel i5, with 8gs of ram, and "intel HD graphics" card, and hers runs flawlessly in top quality!

Do you play on Direct X 10 / 11 or Direct X 9?

Neither of them work properly. They both cause crashes.

I was able to fix this. I turns out anyone with an AMD processer has too much stuff running in the back, and you HAVE to play it in windowed mode. With the "crashes every time you apply windowed mode" glitch, I had to download this to mod the actual launcher. It works great though, and should be recommended to anyone with this problem. It realy works ? Me and a friend are having the same problem . . . his game is always crashing . . . mine runs fine but his dont :S

I'm sorry I haven't played in nearly a year since posting this. All of the links to the downloads are through other forms and not owned by me. since posting this all of the links have gone down as their was only one person posting several fixes (i looked into all of them and they're mostly down but you might have better luck) as for "fixing it" not my download i wish I could help. The only thing I can recommend is talking to the "Hellstrong" person who posted the original download link, whom I've never been in contact with. Who knows? He might have pulled them himself or gotten shut down I have no idea. He might even be able to send them to you personally again I've never talked to them.
