Won't launch, no error.

I've verified the cache. I've defragged the game. I've deleted everything except steamapps and steam.exe. I've updated my video card driver.

No avail. My absolutely last resort is reinstalling it, which I doubt would work, since a simillar issue with another game still went on, with this fix.

Help me.

Try running msconfig and disable all startup items and reboot. If it gets it running you can run msconfig again and re-enable startup items one at a time until you find what's interfering with it.

This Worked For Me So What I Did Was I Deleted My Saint Row Folder And Then Uninstall The Game on Steam Because The Uninstall dont Delete Everything And It Leaves Some Files Which Are Ones That You Installed

May as well add to some random fixes too, I found the game wouldn't launch if it was on an external drive. I moved it to an internal, and its fine now. So if your SR3 is on an external and not working, move it to the internal then test it.

this is how my gamefolder on the pc looks like after i inatslled it in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\saints row the third

1 Rename game_launcher.exe to game_launcher.exe.bak (This will be a backup) (if it doesnt say. exe at end, add .bak only, same thing)
2 Make a copy of either 'saintsrowthethird_dx11.exe' OR 'saintsrowthethird.exe'.
3 Rename the new copy to 'game_launcher.exe'
4 Run game_launcher and the game should start.

can only wish you best of luck.. as the Dr mentioned earlier, its very hard to do anything when ur not actually at the computer that has the problem.. especially when you dont know what does it

-any one of those 3 files would run the launcer, not the game, so i tested this and made a backup of the dx 9 one.. this bypasses the thing and game starts..

then again.. game starts for me anyway xD so restoring my backup

I tried your method and it got the game to launch but when it did it instantly minimised

Game > properties > verify integrity worked for me (whatever tab it's on).

...and I'll necro what I want (before anyone tells me not to). Better to find all info in one thread than to have to search a hundred different ones.

I'm having a similar issue, only this is happening on a computer that doesn't have internet access, meaning verifying game cache or reinstallation isn't an issue.

Any ideas on how to fix it without that?

time to necro the hell outta this cause the game decided to stop working after it worked just fine like 2 weeks ago, no changes made to my pc. at all. and the game just refuses to work, as soon as i select either direct x option, it closes the launcher and then nothing happens. like i never launched the game. no errors, no logs, and NO guides online that explain WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥ IS HAPPENING. ive done every step that all you ♥♥♥♥♥ keep suggeting and it does not fix it.

"the code execution cannot proceed because vcruntime140_1.dll was not found" but it is only showed to ye if ye open the launcher from the folder ye ken.

SO THE SOLUTION IS to install every VC redist:

The MS Runtime Library installer can be acquired directly from Microsoft.com.

Also, no need to download from anywhere. The game includes the necessary runtime installer, "vcredist_x86.exe" within the game folder. "DirectX" is also included in a subfolder there.
