my game wont start please help
whenevr i boot up the game, the launcher wich allows me to select between the 2 directx options opens just fine, but once i select either the game just does not start. please someone help, i did not get to finish it yet.

It's the launcher. It will not work at all. No worries, you don't need it. Get to the game folder and make a shortcut of the game's exe (either the regular or _DX11) and send it to your desktop. Having this issue with dozens of games now after my main Steam SSD (Patriot Mem) failed and now 440+ games are technically still installed but now I'm having to reinstall them onto a good SSD (Crucial). I thought it was a "me" problem but lots of users seem to be having this same type of issue with lots of different Steam games lately. Perhaps bad updates pushed through to get onto the storefront page as "recently updated"? That, combined with forced updates that started around 2015 on Steam made me not buy so much on here after that.

do you have any video tutorials? when it comes to doing stuff with game folders i am better with visual visualization

Tried this, didnt work. Still boots the launcher even using the direct .EXE instead of shortcut. I'll messa round with Compatability settings and such to see if i can fix it. However, something odd to note, just a few months ago this game worked fine. Did a update get pushed that completely bricked the game?

Disable CPU cores in motherboard bios to what the game was designed to run on! 4-8 ONLY should be fine. RUn game in compatibility mode also, if needed.

Well, the issue with this reasoning is, as I said, i was able to run this on the SAME PC just a few months ago. Sure, I did do a factory reset, however that is the only thing i could think of that could have broken it. However, I will keep messing with compatibility. So far i haven't found anything that could fix the game. Is this something that may require a modification of binary? That's the only thing i could assume if we cant get this working.

Your missing the point! Sadly, most allow forced updates...!
I follow the very simple rule " if it is not broke = DO NOT FIX IT"I
So, what ever updated... - added on - running in the background... !

BROKE IT!

Your "JOY" to discover it!

It is not the software - game! DECADES with this game = still works!

It is what you are attempting to run it on's issue! NOT the game!

Lmfao, found the reason why it wouldnt work. I did 2 things (i dont know which worked)
I followed THIS guide

And it seemed to work. I also went to the "videos" folder and deleted
"logo_amd_hd.bik"
"logo_thq_and_voli_hd.bik"
Now, it is completely fixed and i am able to play!
Im assuming it was the guide that worked. Have fun playing SR3 folks!

im a casual gamer i dunno how to mess with computer settings i use a gaming laptop :(
