Why are people saying that SR3 is the worst SR game?

I know that everyone has their own opinion, but I'm just curious to hear why some people think that Saints Row The Third is the worst of the series. I played all four Saints Row games and The Third is the best of them. I know that it lacks the tons of customization options you had in part 2 and Steelport doesn't look as good as Stilwater, but for that The Third had a much better story than 1 and 2 and it also made me lough the most. The scene where you find Zemos and escape with the S&M carriage is one of the most funny scenes I ever saw in a video and the whole game had more over the thop moments than the both previous games. Aside from that it also offers more side quests again than 2 did.

Probably the change of being a street gang to a media icon. I've never played SR1 or SR4, but in my opinion, both SR2 and SR3 are great games, and I can't wait until I can play SR4.

Never played the others but story is pretty weak so far. But I did mostly side missions... cause the main story is not compelling at all. It's kinda fun, but if the 1st, 2nd and 4th have worst stories than that...

It's just my opinion that the other games have weaker stories. I'm sure that other people will disagree with me.

i thought the general consensus was the first one was the worst

The first two and last two games in the series have big differences from each other, so I think in then end it boiles down to personal preference.

Never Played SR1, but to me it's like this; SR2 > SR4 > SR3
Overall I prefered SR2, enjoyed it more all around. SR3, 4 you need to stop yourself from upgrading certain things or the game becomes way to easy.

And I Hate all the DLC for the last 2 games, including CHEATS. Come on! And lots of that DLC was essensially Mods and skins. I prefer have the game support the moding community then DLC being cheap useless mods.

Haven't played neither 1st or 4th ones yet but as for me 2nd is a lot better than 3rd. Probably because 2nd was a bit more serious thand 3rd one.

In my opinion exactly cos of this I like SR3 more, cos of it's madness, but as I say in my opinion. Think SR2 and SR3 (didn't played 1 or 4 yet) have quite big differences to be compared, more look like different games in same genre than same series games.

SR1-2 and SR3-4 share a lot of things but They have an important diference , SR1-2 have a solid story that tries to portrait a street gang in a serious way ... SR3-4 have a solid story but makes a joke about streen gang games triying to be too serious adding boring minigames and routines to the game . In SR2 trailers you can see that the Devs started to promote the game in that way making fun about GTA games and his most stupid minigames (I still remember how boring was the Gym in GTA San Andreas). IN SR3 and 4 They just decided to dig into the joke idea making crazy games with crazy stories .

Saints Row 2 has a more interesting world but that is spoiled by inconsistent graphics, bad animations, and overall bad game-feel.

If you're playing mostly side missions it's probably because you haven't gotten far enough into the story yet... it has so many twisits and turns it's crazy.
