Gang customization bugged?

This is actually a problem I've had with Saints Row The Third since... well, forever.

For some reason the Saints that are supposed to spawn driving down the streets of Steelport in custom Saints vehicles instead spawn in regular cars and with different gang customization (model, gang sign) than the ones I chose, sometimes bugged ones.

This has been happening for as long as I can remember. On different operating systems, with mods, without mods, new saves, old saves, 100%, 1%, with DLC, without DLC and so on. Is there a problem with the Steam version or something?? Did Volition really leave this unpatched since day one?

PS: This only affects gang members that spawn with cars, the ones that are on-foot seem to work as they should. They are idiots but they work.

When saints come in for backup like in survival challenges are they in the vehicles you chose for them?

Yes they are. Only the ones that spawn on the street are bugged. They spawn in civilian vehicles and have random appearence (not the ones I chose).

Interesting I'll have to keep an eye out for that. What part of the game are you on mission/%wise? I'm only about a third through but I don't think my saints drive around in saints cars on the street at random either. Will check soon.

100% completion but it's been like this from the start.

This isn't new for me, I've had this bug ever since I got SR TT two years ago. Re-formated the hard drive twice since then. I don't think gang members ever spawned correctly for me...

Seems like there are a lot of gang problems people are having. I haven't seen my gang in any cars, gang or otherwise, unless they come in for backup. To clarify, did you say in the op that saints can spawn in other gangs' cars in your game?

For me they just walk around on the sidewalk, they never randomly spawn in any kind of vehicle. The other gang problem I have is that when they do come in for backup in gang cars, they are not the cars I chose for them.

No they spawn very rarely, and when they do they spawn in civilian cars. I'm willing to bet it's the same for you, at first I thought they weren't spawning at all for me ether, took me a while to figure it out.

I'm having this as well. And the ones that spawn on foot have random skins, not the ones I chose.

Hmm my skins are the ones I chose so far, though the gang sign isn't right.

Anyway I'm keeping an ear to the ground if there is a way to fix this. So far I can't find anything. Might try a reinstall but that rarely fixes anything like this these days.

I reinstalled it at least 20 times on different operating systems, so yeah :/
