SR: The Third was one of the few games I've heard Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation) give a glowing review to. So yeah, you're in the minority in your opinion that it's a bad game.
Edit: Aspects of SR2 keep coming back to me, it's been a while since I played it but I think the single most thing that killed the game for me was my badass character running around everywhere like she had a load in her pants. She'd go from being awesome in the cutscenes, to running around like she didn't make the bathroom on time.
Edit: Although, Stilwater's world was probably better because Volition did such an amazing job with making it seem like a living, breathing world. I still find Steelport to be anything but boring but I have to admit that the lack of variety in the NPCs is a step down from Stilwater.
I keep editing my posts because stuff is slowly coming back to me. :P
I enjoy the silly humor of SR games much moreso than the oh so serious GTA. Volition was wise to take the direction they did, and they have the bigger sales figures to prove it as far as the SR franchise has gone sales-wise.
you can either turn off (or decrease) "post process detail" ingame or you can edit your display.ini file and change the line:
i think that is just something they should have put in.
i understand the jokes and why some people would like them but i just think that the game is a little bit to repetitive.
