Report a translation problem
A few countries (such as Germany in my friend's case) have only Cut (censored) versions of games due to country information and exposure restrictions. Therefore, unless both of you have the Cut version of the game, you will NOT be able to play together. Even if you do, and you're in different regions, it's not certain, only speculation that you will be able to play together.
I hope this information helps many users in the times to come! Sorry for those of you who ended up suffering like my friend an I did. :-(
