can't start up the game
i've played puzzle pirates for years and dicided too give it another shot. Unfortunatly my laptop told me a different story, afther downloading the game fine i tried to play it and it closed straight away. I have no idea why it does that, i don't find any clues to where i did something wrong. but i have a new laptop ( HP Omen). i haven't changed any major programs.

Unfortunatly i could not take a print-screen off whats happening, but i can say when i try to open the game, the game tries to open the normal puzzle pirates game and not the dark sea one. mayby thats where the problem lies.

if u need me to go and search something in the files to help u out pls do contact me.

Are you launching the game from your Steam library? Can you please try the following:

1) Right-click on Puzzle Pirates: Dark Seas in your library
2) Select Properties
3) Select Local Files
4) Click Verify Integrity of Game Files

See if it identifies any issues with the files that are installed.

Ive Had these issues too and it states there are fails, how do I go about fixing this?

normally if u run that, it should automaticly change the faulty files, basicly the computer compares the files with the files provided on the server, if it finds different files it will say those are fails, and should re-download and reinstall those files

Thanks! I've done thatjust tried it, do I need to uninstall and reinstall after? It just seems to show the Java icon in my dock but nothing else seems to happen

best to try that once and if that doesn't work, the issue i had was, i had 2 graphic cards and for some reason i just needed to change what graphics card it used and then it was fine and it worked
mayby check for that aswell

I tried to reinstall and verify integrity but I am still getting an error. It tells me that "the application has failed to launch due to a missing resource: http://download.obsidian.puzzlepirates.com/yoclient/20180907062632/digest.txt"

This is a different error.

When reinstalling on Steam you'll have to do a little extra since Steam doesn't always remove all the game files. Your pirates are saved on our server, so you don’t need to worry about losing any information by removing the game from your computer.

1. Right click game in Steam Library
2. Select Properties
3. In Local Files tab click "Browse Local Files..."
then you will have a file window open where you can verify if Steam left anything behind
4. Right-click Puzzle Pirates in the Steam Library and choose the "Delete Local Content..." option to remove the game.
5. Delete any remaining files or folders in the file window you opened earlier.
6. Go to Puzzle Pirates in the Steam Store and install the game again.
