Login Failed due to user load

Everytime i keep trying to get on its telling my login failed due to high user load? Why is this? And when will i be able to get on?

I was pillaging and we noticed that our PoE weren't increasing. Then we realize that we couldn't leave the ship so we all tried to relogged and we're stuck out of the game.

Servers are lagged badly atm, logins aren't working for anyone. People in game are stuck

By the looks of it, its a worldwide problem. It seems there are something wrong with the servers and as people log out, they are not able to log back on.
My guess is something happened to the server or the connection and that it is still up and running but the bandwidth greatly decreased. The devs should know and be on their way of fixing.
