I think you are SUPPOSED to start IronWolf VR if you intend to host, THEN, for your friends who should NOT have started the game yet, but should be logged in to Steam, you go to your Steam Friends list, click on their name, and pulldown Remote Play to invite them to the game.
But for us the problem at THAT point is that the person who receives the invite via Steam, then accepts the invite, gets plunked into the Steam VR Theater, then gets some kind of error message at worst. At best, they can WATCH the host, but not interact. We confirmed that we can connect via the Steam VR Home without difficulty. But can't get IronWolf VR to work. He's got an Oculus, I've got an Index. We receive each other's invites, accept them, but just get stuck in the theater instead of in the sub base. And in the theater usually not connecting.
