Never Enough Data Achievement

What do I need to scan for this achievement? It seems I've scanned everything at which I could point the recorder. Do I need to do it with each character?

No, you don't need to scan anything more than once. There are two or three scans in every room (don't forget the sleeping area) and six total on the bridge.
