How the hell do you get past the "dark throne" ?

I'm opening this thread out of desperation and frustration equally. Minor level spoilers ahead, nothing from the story.

I just arrived to the dark level, where there are barely any dim lights in the light cycle. This is the first room just as I get out of the elevator.

I'm supposed to sit on a throne, which opens 3 tall gates, on each about 3 echoes come in. I get it that the point is I can't run past them, I can't reach the gate I'm supposed to go through after I hop up from the throne, so I'm supposed to teach them to sit on the throne, disappear somehow because the whole empty room makes it impossible for them to not notice me (I ran back to the elevator, I can lose them there usally but then I teach them how to run which is BAD).

So there I am, at the elevator again. A cycle goes by, now they can sit on the throne AND run, which makes it impossible to go downstairs to the throne area from the elevator because there are about 7 or 8 of them in a big empty room, running around, with no way no to get noticed. I know there is low cover in the 4 corners but can't get there without being noticed due to their random running.

I can't for the life of me get past this room (5 hours in the game so I suspect I'm closing in on the end which the "it's almost dark even in the light cycle" theme also suggest), but I'm seriously considering to say just ♥♥♥♥ all of it, uninstall, watch it on youtube, which I never do but I'm this close to throwing the whole game out, which I never do either so you can imagine how frustrated I am. I haven't progressed in the game for 3 weeks because of this and honestly don't even want to launch it anymore.

How the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to do this?! I can't even find youtube content for the game that's a proper playthrough to "cheat" my way past it.

Sit on throne to unlock the door to let the echos in. Run to and hide behind one of the back pillars near the stairs. Wait till the lights go out. Make your way to one of the front pillars near the door. When the lights come on wait for one of the clones to sit on the throne, then run though the now open door.

Keep in mind that when the "wake up" of the new cycle happens, you reboot faster than the echos. So you get a good 3-4 seconds to move before the clones can do anything, which could help getting that last bit behind cover or taking out a echo that is too close to you.
