ATK (Attack):
==========
Notable damage-type Mitama:
----------
ATK Battle style
----------
Stock Count change: -1 in Might, -1 in Leech
Total Stock count: 7 Might, 7 Leech, 2 Carnage
Passive: Focus fills faster when in Purification stance.
Passive Abilities: ATK Master: Amplify, Hardy
Might Skill Description: Increases attack by 20%
Might Abilities: Rage, Range, Attributes, Havoc, Sturdy, Surprise, Nimble, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Leech Skill Descritption: Restore health based on the damage you do
Leech Abilities: Amplify, Absorb, Quicken, Wraith, Rigid, Havoc, Range, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Carnage Skill Description: All attacks have a 100% Critical rate
Carnage Abilities: Martyr, Shred, Link, Reduce, Stock, Duration
New abilities:
ATK Master (Maintain): Slows down the duration of your active skills when your are in Purification stance
Carnage+ (Quicken): Oni kills or part breaks with Carnage active will shorten your cooldowns
Removed abilities: Carnage+ (Almighty)
Comments: ATK received a slight nerf with the -1 stock count in Might and Leech. There are better builds now for ATK such as more of the better mitama have Might+ (Nimble). This class still doesn't have much longevity but this is still a solid class with some of the best endgame potential and a lot of great ATK mitama to choose from.
Notable battle style mitama:
----------
ATK Claw skill = Luminesence: Raises attack and precision (maybe elemental too?) but no damage taken will be converted to the Recoverable Red portion (as if you had 0 Aegis).
Abilities: Amplify, Accuracy, Shred (Increases duration when connecting Destroyers with it active), Reduce, Duration
Comments: This is sort of an all-around skill so its useful for hybrid builds. The damage boost was originally so weak it had to be buffed in a balance patch. But even with the buff it still feels like there are better options for choosing a Claw skill for Pure endgame builds unless you get some abilities for this.
Notable mitama: Ashikaga Yoshiteru (Precision, Longsword or SPC)
----------
ATK Armor skill = Immortal: (Activates when taking a hit that would kill you). Prevents the death, leaving you at 1 HP and for the rest of the skill's duration you will remain unkillable.
Abilities: Frantic (acts like you are near death regardless of your health), Leech, Rigid (Knockback immunity), Reflect, Reduce, Duration
Comments: Handy when in a pinch. Noobs will flock to his skill when they can't seem to last without constantly getting hit. Just remember to heal up after the skill ends. However when you become skillful enough to dodge everything, unless you are intentionally getting hurt for damage reflecting abilities, you are better off having SUP as your Armor skill for saving you in a pinch.
Notable mitama:
==========
DEF (Defense)
==========
Notable damage-type mitama:
----------
DEF Battle style
----------
Stock Count change: -2 in Shield
Total Stock count: 8 Taunt, 8 Shield, 2 Barrier.
Passive: Enables a Defense gauge that takes some of the damage you take, you can fill it by going into Purification stance
Passive Abilities - DEF Master: Augment, Rigid, Resist, Protect, Valiant
Taunt Skill Description: Increases Defense by 20% and increases the chance of getting the Oni to target you.
Taunt Abilities: Amity, Assist, Damage, Protect, Sturdy, Swift, Zone, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Shield Skill Description: Instantly fills the Defense gauge and temporarily increases its size
Shield change The extra size of the Defense gauge isn't completly lost from the slightest hit.
Shield Abilities: Valiant, Range, Link, Reduce, Stock
Barrier Skill Description: Invincibility
Barrier Abilities: Awe, Brawn, Shred, Link, Wraith
New Abilities:
DEF Master (Purify): Purifying parts fills the Defense gauge
Taunt+ (Purify): Purificating parts may restore Taunt stocks
Shield+ (Purify): Purificating parts may restore Shield stocks
Barrier+ (Nimble): Increases attack speed while Barrier is active. Exclusive to Sesshu's Unique ability
Removed Abilities: DEF Master (Lure)
Comments. In Toukiden Kiwami DEF Players were A bit of a rarity in the community and even rarer when used professionally for damage. DEF had potential to rival the other styles with Taunt+ Damage builds but it needed a lot of other DEF abilities to pull it off. Things have changed a bit now for these builds. The must-have abilities for these builds are a bit scattered and tend to lean toward Raw Damage and Elemental builds instead of Precision (all there is for precision is Kusaka Genzui's Fervor.) So with all this, there may be more DEF players this time after and also due to SPD's heavy nerf but only time will tell.
Notable battle style mitama: Hijikata Toshizo (Longsword), Raiden Tame'emon (Gauntlets), Arthur (Sword n Shield)
----------
DEF Claw skikll = Onslaught: Converts some of your Defense to Attack.
Abilities: Front Attack (Increased damage when attacking in front of the oni), Shred, Qinggong (Reduced focus consumption), Amplify, Attributes, Reduce, Duration.
Comments: Simple to understand and i do believe its percentage based so heavy tank players can use this for a big burst of damage. There's some good abilities to put on here for other builds and it is tied with LCK for the shortest cooldown (2 minutes). A solid choice.
Notable mitama: Kusaka Genzui (DEF & Elemental)
----------
DEF Armor skill = Solidity: (Activates when you take any hit). Slightly Reduces damage taken for that hit, and significantly reduces all damage taken for the rest of the skill's duration. Lasts about 20 seconds
Abilities: Hardy, Resist (Immunity to ailments), Amplify, Reduce, Duration
Comments: Another self explanitory skill. Its a decent choice regardless on how often you take hits (unless you happen to be playing a perfectionist SPD build)
Notable mitama:
==========
SPD (Speed)
==========
Notable damage-type mitama:
----------
SPD Battle style
----------
Stock Count change: -2 in Energy, -2 in Agility, -1 in Vigor
Total Stock Count: 8 Energy, 8 Agility, 3 Vigor
Passive - Cuts down Focus costs
Passive Abilities - SPD Master: Minimize
Energy Skill Description: Increases Movment speed and Focus refill rate
Energy: Accuracy, Bonus, Exploit, Havoc, Quicken, Swift, Range, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Agility Skill Description: Nullifies one free hit you take.
Agility changes: Agility has lost its attack cancel dodge, no longer has infinite duration, and its cooldown has doubled to 20 seconds
Agility Abilities: Bonus, Dual, Quicken, Sneak, Reduce, Stock
Vigor Skill Description: Reduces Focus usage and increases Attack Speed
Vigor Abilities: Assist, Destroy, Nimble, Rigid, Special, Wraith, Link, Sneak, Reduce, Stock, Duration
New abilities:
SPD Master Special: Increase damage of Special attacks (Not as strong as Vigor+ (Special))
Energy+ (Purify): Purification may restore Energy stocks
Agility+ (Purify): Purification may restore Agility stocks
<b>Changed abilities</b>: Agility+ (Dual) Cooldown time is doubled with this ability (making it 40 seconds long)
Removed abilities: Energy+ (Lure)
Comments. (*incoming elitist rant*) SPD got some massive nerfs and for good reason with people cheesing with this class, usually not even attempting to dodge with it. Energy's movement speed boost is now worthless with the new Stormrunner move far outrunning it. And only 3 mitama have Agility+ (Dual) with only 1 of them having any offensive ability (Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Exuberance), so you are sacrificing a lot of damage for more Agility hits. SPD sometimes got a bad stereotype of being "the Noob class" back in Kiwami. The toxicity was suprisngly more from the SPD players and not from the elitists: not accepting any human players who aren't SPD, gloating or bragging about it being the best class "I can beat this without getting hit, everything else sucks"...all while having piss poor DPS, even these Ghost town of a forums weren't safe from them. Yes there were some SPD players making an exception, playing well with a good setup. But sometimes it felt like they could do better where Focus Consumption was not an issue. Regardless, if you clung to SPD for the Agility hits, noob or pro, you may get a rude awakening with all of its nerfs. There are still a few good offensive mitama for SPD. Okita Soji is sort of the new Okada Izo but without the Gouge Master. What I briefly mentioned a few sentences ago that's a really good thing, is there are a lot of SPD mitama with 100% health related abilities like Exuberance and Majesty. Those pro enough to rarely get hit can make some very powerful setups with this having Agilty give you some hits before your DPS goes down the tubes. SPD is either going to get an even worse rep now or it may be treated like DEF players, only time will tell
Notable battle style mitama: Okita Soji (Precision),
----------
SPD Claw = Mirage: Creates a shadow clone of yourself which mimics your actions to deal damage. However focus consumption for your attacks are increased during this time.
Abilities: Attributes, Quicken, Nimble, Wraith, Reduce, Duration
Comments: I am unsure if the shadow clone's damage is identical to yours but regardless, this can still be one of the best Claw skills if you got focus restoring abilities in your build. It is also easy to build up your Weapon Gauge with this active so its a great choice for PLN or Destroyer related builds.
Notable mitama: Miyamoto Musashi (Longsword & ATK), Amaterasu (Naginata & SPD), or Saika Magoichi (Rifle & SPT)
----------
SPD Armor = Acrobat: (Activated by dodging). When this skill is active, focus consumption for your attacks and dodges are reduced and you can dodge cancel out of attacks.
Abilities: Finesse (Gymnast + Evasion effect), Hardy, Bonus (Faster focus recovery), Swift, Reduce, Duration
Comments: This is where the effect SPD's Agility had moved to (and still has the same effect for Naginata's Parries, Longsword's Twisting Slash and Dual Knives' new Double Jump may also trigger this now too). At least this skill has a decent duration (20 seconds) and a very short cooldown of 1 minute so its not a major loss for those that can't live without this.
Notable mitama:
==========
HLG (Healing)
==========
Notable damage-type mitama: Bishamonten
----------
HLG battle style
----------
Stock count change: +2 in Zeal, -1 in Vitality
Total Stock count: 10 Zeal, 7 Vitality, 2 Panacea
Passive: Increases effect of Recovery skill and allows you to dispell other players' ailments by attacking them
Passive Abilities - HLG Master: Rally, Cure, Quicken
Zeal Skill Description: Reduces focus costs and increases focus refill rate for all players
Zeal Abilities: Accuracy, Amplify, Ardor, Attributes, Rage, Swift, Valor, Wraith, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Vitality Skill Description: Drop a Healing ring that slowly restores health to anyone who is in it.
Vitality Abilities: Amplify, Assist, Bulwark, Heal, Rigid, Sturdy, Zone, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Panacea Skill Description: Completly restores everyones health and focus, removes all ailments and revives KO'd allies
Panacea Abilities: Quicken, Destroy, Reduce, Stock
New Abilities:
Zeal+ (Purify): Purification may restore Zeal stocks
Vitality+ (Purify): Purification may restore Vitality stocks
Panacea+ (Purify): Purification may restore Panacea stocks. Exclusive to Tsukuyomi's Unique ability
Panacea+ (Protect): Gives everyone a full Defense gauge
Panacea+ (Assist): Raises everyones Unity Gauge
Comments:
Notable battle style mitama:
----------
HLG Claw = Exertion: Increases damage based on how low your health is. Each attack you connect converts some of your health to the Recoverable Red portion.
Abilities: Bonus (Faster focus recovery), Nimble, Amplify, Shred, Reduce, Duration.
Comments: This can be the strongest Claw skill for those that keep their health low (So you diehard MH vets will love this one). Since the red portion of your health is lost from the slightist hit, getting hit while using this skill can bring your health to almost nothing. This is a High Risk-High Reward skill. The skill itself won't kill you if your entire health bar is turned red, but obviosuly getting hit from the slightest attack will. Since this skill revolves around your health, it's effect is minimal when used with health restoring builds like Knowledge (Leech) or can be ruined if a HLG or party person decides to heal you.
Notable mitama: Taira no Tomomori (Near death builds)
----------
HLG Armor = Auto-therapy: (Acitvated when near death). Recovers your health, this skill is affected by Recovery Abilities so this will restore more health with Recovery+ (Amplify) for example.
Abilities: Impulse (Skill will trigger on Kills or Part Breaks), Amity (Small health regen effect), Quicken, Relief (Skill will activate with a Range effect when nearby allies are at near death), Recoil (Skill will activate upon taking damage), Reduce
Comments: Since this skill has such a small threshold for activating it normally and little reward out of it, it is the worst Armor skill by itself but at least it'll save you on some recoveries when it does activate. There are others ways to trigger this by abilities to make it a decent skill as well as giving this some support potential out of the other abilities. But since this skill has a short duration, buff or duration related abilities are also useless for it.
Notable mitama:
==========
SPT (Spirit)
==========
Notable damage type mitama:
----------
SPT Battle style
----------
Stock count change: +4 in Pursuit, +1 in Fountain, +1 in Eurption
Total Stock Count: 12 Pursuit, 9 Fountain, 3 Eruption
Passive: Prolonged Purification stance will increase the potency of your skills (including Recovery), hitting a target or its body parts will lock in one where the SPT skill will target.
New Passive change: You no longer have to hit a target to relock SPT skills after using one. As in you can use SPT skills back to back without the subsequent ones missing. The SPT Gauge is also always visible to let you know without having to go into Stance everytime, very handy for instant gauge filling abilities
Passive abilities: SPT Master: Augment, Devote, Havoc, Purify, Rigid, Renewal
Pursuit: Absorb, Accuracy, Bolster, Devour, Leech, Track, Surprise, Raid, Purify, Reduce, Stock
Fountain: Assist, Attract, Bolster, Exploit, Surprise, Reduce, Stock
Eruption: Accuracy, Bolster, Destroy, Sneak, Raid, Reduce, Stock
New abilities:
SPT Master (Bolster): Increases damage of all Weapon SPT Skills (Not as much as the individual Bolster abilities)
SPT Master (Quicken): Shortens cooldowns when using Weapon SPT Skills depending on the charge level (This includes Recovery).
Fountain+ (Purify): Purification may restore Fountain stocks.
Comments: SPT got some of the best buffs but I am a tad worried that all these new changes to SPT will make Noobs flock to this and play Ranged super far away while doing nothing but spamming SPT skills. There are far less SPT Master Devotes now so these players will still burn out on their skills fast if they tried too (Izanami and Taira no Masakado). SPT Master (Quicken) is a welcome addition to a SPT build's repitoire greatly shortening your skilldowns, you could even spam max charge recoveries if you are skilled enough to get your skills back up again. As for SPT mitama there's a nice healthy mix this time instead of almost all elemental related. A good chunk of SPT mitama have 2 SPT Masters. Ariwara no Narihira (SPC) has 3 (Quicken, Augment and Renewel)
Notable battle style mitama:
----------
SPT Claw = Illumination: Upon activating, the most recent Body part you attacked will take damage (similiar to SPT's Eurption but no where near as strong) and then that part will turn a blueish color. For the rest of this skill's duration, attacking that body part will do more damage but attacking anywhere else will do much less.
Abilities: Amplfy, Accuracy, Havoc, Restart (Breaking the affected part with the skill active will remove its next cooldown), Reduce, Duration
Comments: This is great choice for the heavy weapons and/or speedrunners that focus on a single part like Gauntlets, Club or SNP Rifles, but bad for weapons that hit multiple parts at the same time like Naginatas or most of the Bow's attacks. But obviously using this skill can be a problem when you can't hit that part like when an Oni is constantly moving or turning
Notable mitama:
----------
SPT Armor = Curse: (Activated when grappling the Oni). Slows down Oni to a crawl including their attack speeds, it stops them almost completly like freezing time.
Abilities: Weaken (Oni will take more damage), Restrain (Slows them down even more), Wraith, Assist, Reduce, Duration, Poison? (Hard to translate but i think it either lowers the Oni's attack power or drains their health like the Poison ailment, translation may also means it might only work on Small oni)
Comments: This is one of the best Armor skills to have, it's almost like having a ranged Stupor from the DCT class. However it has one of the longest cooldowns of the Armor skills of I think at least 3 minutes. Remember you can pull back on the L stick to cancel pulling into the oni when grappling and the skill will still activate. Some good SPT mitama used in other builds like Club or Elemental have some abiltiies for this so you can slip one in as another choice like for Unkei or Nasu no Yoichi
Notable mitama:
DCT (Deceit)
==========
Notable damage-type mitama:
----------
DCT battle style
----------
Stock Count change: -2 in Puncture, +2 in Illusion
Total Stock Count: 8 Puncture, 8 Illusion, 2 Stupor
Passive: Back attacks on Oni increase Critical Rate by about 20%
Passive Abilities - DCT Master: Assault, Surprise, Wraith
Puncture Skill Description: Shoots a ball that explodes and infects nearby parts of Oni with needles. All attack do more damage there.
Puncture: Absorb, Accuracy, Amplify, Attributes, Shoot, Surprise, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Illusion description ( Completly redone skill): Makes the user invisible for a set time to reduce attracting attention. Attacking when invisible will give a large damage boost to the hit but will end Illusion early. The extra damage is even stronger when attacking behind Oni
Illusion: Assist, Hardy, Sturdy, Sanctity, Surprise, Swift, Reduce, Stock
Stupor Skill Description: Creates a Paralysis Trap.
Stupor Abilities: Destroy, Reduce, Stock, Duration
New abilities:
Puncture+ (Purify): Purification may restore Puncture stocks.
Illusion+ (Rage): Increases Illusions Attack
Illusion (Duration)
Illusion+ (Purify): Purification may restore Illusion stocks.
Stupor+ (Accuracy): Increases Precision when Oni are trapped in Stupor
Puncture+ (Poison): Translation sounds like it may Poison but it may also mean it lowers the Oni's Attack. Exclusive to Oiwa's Unique ability
Removed abilities:
DCT Master (Sneak)
Illusion+ (Sneak)
Illusion+ (Attributes)
Comments: DCT got some big changes and it works really well with its Claw and Armor skills or Ailment setups. Illusion is no longer a party skill and can be used offensively. Illusion's damage boost is I think between 40-70%, so use your strongest charge skill for this. (Since Naginata's don't have one, use your new Hyperstate consuming attack, so make sure to have it before activating Illusion and use it quickly before it expires if doing this. A similiar situation may also apply here to the new Whip weapon and its explosive needles)
Notable battle style mitama:
----------
DCT Claw = Contagion: Releases a Poison cloud around you. Oni affected will be poisoned and your Precision is up for the rest of the skill's duration, however you will also be more suseptible to being inflicted by ailments from attacks.
Abilities: Amplify, Accuracy, Ardor (skill gives Fervor effect), Absorb, Quicken, Reduce, Duration
Comments: This is my favorite Claw skill and along with SPD is one of the best Claw skills. Because it poisons, it has so much potential out of builds with Exploit Abilities. You can make Poison builds in new and better ways out of this like new hybrids. Several DCT mitama's Unique abilities were meant for this such as Jigoku Dayu's being Knowledge (Absorb) + Exploit (Rage). The drawback isn't that big of an issue, the only real threat are any lightning based attacks which will almost always stun you which can be common for the small Oni like Aurwings.
Notable mitama: Yagyu Jubei (Precision cooldown), Jigoku Dayu (Elemental)
----------
DCT Armor = Apothecary (Activated when being inflicted with Ailments). Negates that attack that hit you, damage AND ailment.
Abilities: Quicken, Nimble, Bonus (Faster focus recovery), Surprise, Reduce, Health (Exclusive to Lady Kaguya's Unique, restores health on activation)
Comments: This skill may not seem like much at first glance but when most endgame Oni's attacks are hard hitting and inflicting Ailments on you, this skill goes a long way with giving you lots of free hits, almost as good as SPD's Agility. A very good Armor Skill choice. But since the skill has a short duration of a few seconds, almost all of the abilities you can get for this are useless. Lady Kaguya is my favorite choice when going for this skill, letting you have good survivability regardless of what you have as battle style or claw mitama.
Notable mitama:
==========
SPC (Space)
==========
Notable damage-type mitama:
----------
SPC Battle style
----------
Stock Count change: +3 in Sanctum
Total Stock count: 25 Warp, 9 Sanctum, 3 Paradox
Passive: Purification stance will give a buff to yourself and others touching that slightly speeds up cooldowns.
New change: An icon will appear under your Health/Focus bar indicating the Passive buff and its duration. This however does not apply to Sanctum's buff
Passive Abilities - SPC Master: Quicken, Extend, Purify
Warp Skill Description: Teleport a set distance
Warp Abilities: Accuracy, Bonus, Flight, Teleport, Reverse, Reduce, Stock
Sanctum Skill Description: Drops a purification field that will help purify body parts as well as providing a 2nd version of SPC's Passive buff
Sanctum Abilties: Accuracy, Amplify, Assist, Extend, Hardy, Quicken, Swift, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Paradox Skill Description: Drops a black hole that pulls Oni in and deal damage to them
Paradox change: Paradox is smaller and a bit higher up
Paradox Abilities: Attract, Assist, Bolster, Brawn, Destroy, Restrain, Surprise, Link, Reduce, Stock, Duration
New abilities:
SPC Master (Rage): Party Purification buff will also increase Attack
SPC Master (Accuracy): Party Purification buff will also increase Accuracy
Warp+ (Purify): Purification may restore Warp stocks.
Sanctum+ (Purify): Purification may restore Sanctum stocks.
Removed abilities: Warp+ (Assembly)
Comments: There were a lot of issues when playing SPC endgame in Toukiden Kiwami, almost all of the mitama were leaned toward cooldown shortening abilities, or boosting Paradox, providing no abilities to raising your base damage or anything else. This is no longer the case. Like Minamoto no Yorimasa having Devastation and Fervor or Okikurumi having Knowledge (Absorb) and Knowledge. SPC is also now good for the aerial weapons since you can now use Skills when airborne, you can teleport easily out of danger. Its popularity has skyrocketed in Japan and i can't see it being any different then when we get it. The only drawback to SPC now is Paradox's slight nerf, it won't be effective on some of the smaller Large Oni when they are downed like the Shredders.
Notable battle style mitama:
----------
SPC Claw = Vortex: Summons a Vortex that detonates a damaging explosion after a set time that makes Oni Flinch. During the skill's duration you cannot go into purification stance or use skills.
Abilities: Accuracy, Attract (pulls in Oni), Bolster (Does more damage), Exploit (Does more damage on Oni suffering from Ailments), Surprise, Compress (Takes less time to detonate), Reduce
Comments: This is not a good Claw skill. It's like a big bomb with a long fuse that can very easily miss with a large window for the Oni to get away. The damage is pretty strong, has a good chance of making the Oni flinch, and the explosion radius is a bit bigger than the actual vortex, but strangely it does not pull in the Oni normally like SPC's Paradox. This skill really needs some abilities on your setup for it to be worthwhile
Notable mitama:
----------
SPC Armor = Purify : (Activated by staying in Purifcation stance for a few seconds). Greatly expands your Purification stance's field and power, during the skill's duration if a Body Part is purified, all of your cooldowns are greatly shortened.
Abilities: Sturdy (Increases everyones defense), Purify (Shortens cooldowns even more when body parts are purified), Assist, Sanctity (Purify parts faster), Reduce, Duration, Damage (Oni entering your Purification field causes explosive energy balls to spawn that deal small damage)
Comments: More for a supportive role normally. Abilties for this skill give party effects and one can even make this an offensive skill so this can have some use for an attacker. Urashima Taro is my favorite choice for damage for this skill, especially if playing SPC, HLG, or precision
Notable mitama:
==========
LCK (Luck)
==========
Notable damage-type mitama:
----------
LCK Battle style
----------
Stock Count change: +1 in Random, +1 in Fortune
Total Stock count: 9 Random, 9 Fortune, 2 Revival
Passive: When a part is purified, 1 Stock from a random skill is restored.
Passive abilities - LCK Master: Recovery, Random, Fortune, Revival
Random: Activates a Random Skill in the game, but sometimes you will get a Blank and thus nothing
New Random change : CON skills, Claw skills, and Armor skills are thrown into the Skill pool, Blanks happen less often (They may be gone entirely, this needs testing)
Random Abilities: Cautious, Gambler, Class Style (One for each class), Ward, Reduce, Stock
Fortune Skill Description: Draw a Fortune that changes your Attack and Defense stat. (each arrow is a 10% change). Very Unlucky Fortunes (2 Down Arrows) inflict you with a random Ailment (Except Stun, Armor Break, and Bind)
Fortune change: Very Very Lucky Fortunes (3 Up Arrows) are now added by default.
Fortune: Accuracy, Amplify, Attributes, Assist, Blessing, Bonus, Gambler, Kismet, Miracle, Quicken, Recover, Surprise, Sturdy, Swift, Wraith, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Revival Skill Description: Restores a random amount of skill stocks to every player in the area (0-4 for each skill)
Revival Abilities: Blessing, Quicken
New abilities:
Random+ (CON style): Increases chances of getting CON skills from Random
Fortune+ (Ward): Part Breaks or Oni kills will prevent drawing a Bad Fortune once
Fortune+ (Extend): Very Lucky Fortunes will extend the duration of all active skills. This is exclusive to Shimizu no Jirocho's Unique ability
Changed abilities:
Fortune+ (Miracle): Increases the chance of getting Very Very Lucky Fortunes (previously enabled Very Very Lucky Fortunes)
Fortune+ (Bonus): Restores Focus when getting Very Lucky Fortunes or better. This ability now has a range effect and will apply to nearby allies too.
Fortune+ (Recover): Restores Health when getting Very Lucky Fortunes or better. This ability now has a range effect and will apply to nearby allies too.
Fortune+ (Wraith): Fill the Weapon gauge when getting Very Lucky Fortunes or better. This ability now has a range effect and will apply to nearby allies too.
Fortune+ (Quicken): Shortens Cooldowns when getting Very Lucky Fortunes or better. This ability now has a range effect and will apply to nearby allies too.
Removed abilities: Revival (Stock)
Comments: Once again LCK receives the most changes. Fortune now comes with an altered Fortune+ (Miracle) ability from Kiwami and most abilities for Fortune now have a party effect. Random's move pool has almost doubled with the new Claw and Armor skills, Armor skills are the most common of the move pool while Claw the least. Overall LCK got a decent buff. For mitama, LCK recived some good changes. Instead of most mitama focused on changing probabilty of LCK skills. There are a lot of good mitama now for all types of builds. Sugi Fumi, and Akechi Mitsuhide are the 2 best mitama for Element and Destroyer builds respectively
Notable battle style mitama:
----------
LCK Claw = Providence: Activates a random Claw skill.
Abilities: Reduce, BattleStyle Link (There's 1 for each class, when LCK Claw picks that matching type you will also get that class's O skill. For example if LCK Claw picks the ATK Claw skill and you have the ATK Link ability you will also get a free Carnage with it. DEF gives Barrier, SPD Vigor, SPT Eurption etc.)
Comments: Like all LCK related skills except Revival, this has a short cooldown (2 minutes) so you get more uses out of it than any other class, but obviously what you get is entirely on chance along with their drawbacks. Since there is such diversity in how the Claw skills affect you, it is more likely for a skill to not be as effective for your build or biting you in the butt, Like getting HLG's or PLN's.
Notable mitama: Maeda Keiji (Precision)
----------
LCK Armor = Fortuity: (Activates when breaking a part or defeating Oni). Receive a random effect: Restores Health, Restores Focus, Fill some of the Unity Gauge, Restores
some skill stocks, or nothing.
Abilities: Assist, Gambler* (Enables a chance of getting all effects at once), Amplify*, Potency (Increases amount of health and focus restored when picked), Range*, Blessing, Reduce
Comments: Basically its like a Randomized Dissection ability. This has a super fast cooldown of 1 minute, so builds focusing on Part Breaks and fast Destroyers can really benefit from this Skill. Putting abilities for this skill however can be incredibly risky (noted by an * for the abilities above, these ones give an effect that when nothing happens, you are Sealed and your health is brought down to near death, leaving you super exposed to be killed.)
Notable mitama:
==========
SUP (Support)
==========
Notable damage-type mitama:
----------
SUP Battle style
----------
Stock Count change: +2 in Altruism, -2 in Diffusion
Total Stock Count: 8 Altruism, 8 Diffusion, 2 Sacrifice
Passive: Filling the weapon gauge for yourself will also fill some of the weapon gauge to nearby allies
Passive Abilities - SUP Master: Amplify, Hardy
Altruism Skill Description: Raises Attack and Defense to nearby allies including yourself
Altruism Abilities: Accuracy, Amplify, Attributes, Destroy, Nimble, Quinggong, Surprise, Wraith, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Diffusion Skill Description: Turns all damage taken for everyone to recovery red portion and splits a portion of that damage to all players
Diffusion change The user who casted Diffusion will take much more of the splitted damage.
Diffusion: Assist, Destroy, Hardy, Quicken, Reflect, Rigid, Swift, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Sacrifice Skill Description: Gives nearby allies invulnerability but causes the user to bleed (dropping recoverable red portion health)
Sacrifice abilities: Minimize, Leech, Spirit, Link, Rally, Reduce, Stock, Duration
New abilities:
Altruism+ (Purify): Purification may restore Altruism stocks.
Diffusion+ (Purify): Purification may restore Diffusion stocks.
Sacrifice+ (Destroy): Connecting destroyers may restore Sacrifice stocks.
Sacrifice+ (Zone): Sacrifice will effect everyone on the map
Sacrifice+ (Amplify): I have no idea what this does and there's 4 mitama with this..
Comments: Not much has changed for SUP, there's more mitama with stock restoring abilities so you have a pretty good chance of keeping your buffs up more on your builds. For good SUP mitama, Katsura Kogoro and Fujiwara no Sadaie are both good mitama for precision builds, with Kogoro having Breathrough for Dual Knives. Taira no Atsumori is a good Elemental one with Knowledge Leech and Several Diffusion abilities (Purify and Reflect)
Notable battle style mitama:
----------
SUP Claw = Quicksilver: Emits a pulsing wave around you similar to SUP's Altruism or Sacrifice. Everyone's Attack Speed is increased, there is also a slight increase in attack speed the more people are in range. However any Unity gauge points you get during this skill's duration is instead given to your allies
Abilities: Accuracy, Nimble, Assist, Desperation (Greatly increased damage when near death), Absorb (All attacks restore focus), Wraith, Recover (User's attacks restore party members HP) Reduce, Duration
Comments: A decent skill but its a little dependant on your party. So it won't be as good soloing or playing as or with Ranged players. Abilities give more party effects of course. Since it disables increasing your Unity gauge, try only using it with a full gauge or avoid breaking parts with destroyers with it active unless you are intentionally giving Unity to friends
Notable mitama:
----------
SUP Armor = Phoenix: (Activates when you are killed): Automatically revives you and slowly regenerates your health for the rest of the skill's duration.
Abilities: Amplify (increases healing effect), Quicken, Bulwark, Swift, Recoil (Activates when taking damage), Impulse (Exclusive to Chikurinin's Unique ability, activates on Oni Kills or Part Breaks), Reduce, Duration.
Comments: Very Similar to ATK's but it only prevents one death per use but at least this one gives you health back unlike ATK's which doesn't. This is the better choice of the 2 for those skilled enough to rarely die but want this type of safety net. Abilities enable more ways to activate this skill (but these methods will not provide the free revive). This skill lasts pretty long too (40+ seconds) so it can benefit more from buff abilities like Quicken.

PLN (Plunder)

Notable damage-type mitama:

PLN Battle style

Stock Count change: +4 in Ablution, -1 in Intensity
Total Stock count: 8 Breaker, 8 Ablution, 3 Intensity
Passive: Breaking a body part or defeating Oni will give a stackable Damage buff
<b>New Passive change</b>: An icon appears under your health/focus bar for your passive buff and There are now 9 levels of it, Small Oni kills only raise it by one while Large Oni kills and Part Breaks raise it by 3.
Passive abilities: PLN Master: Amplify, Extend
Breaker Skill Description: Makes it easier to break body parts.
Breaker Abilities: Amplify, Havoc, Link, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Ablution Skill Description: Attacking parts will mark them with a white glow. Breaking that part will instantly purify it.
Ablution Abilities: Extend, Nimble, Potency, Quicken, Restore, Rigid, Wraith, Reduce, Stock, Duration
Intensity Skill Description: Dramatically increases how fast the Weapon Gauge fills up.
Intensity Abilities: Amplify, Destroy, Insight, Link, Range, Reduce, Stock, Duration
New Abilities:
PLN Master (Purify): Refills the duration of your active Passive buff when a Part is purified
Breaker+ (Purify): Purification may restore Breaker stocks.
Breaker+ (Sublimation): Adds +1 more level to your PLN Passive buff when it increases (Part breaks add +4 levels for exampl)
Comments: PLN received a bit of a nerf mostly because of the removal of the United Destroyer that gave an easy max Passive buff along with one less Intensity Stock, so it might not be the highest damage dealing class anymore. The Passive buff maxed out is about the same as Kiwami but the change means you can't feed off of the small Oni peons for maxing your buff. At least you get more Ablution stocks since the stock count was way too small in Kiwami, and the Icon lets you monitor your buff better. For mitama there are an incredible amount of choices for Precision builds, at least 3 have Devastation and Oda Nobunaga has Devastation and Fervor. Ura is also the best Mitama for Raw Damage builds. However there is not a single PLN mitama good for Element so Elemental PLN builds are tough to make
Notable battle style mitama: Oda Nobunaga (Precision), Kondo Isami (Precision), Ura (Raw Damage)
----------
PLN Claw = Heaven's Wrath: Gradually fills the Weapon gauge passively but causes HealthDrain/Blood loss like SUP's Sacrifice (Health slowly converts to recoverable red portion). Using a destroyer yields powerful results and ends the skill early.
Abilities: Bonus (Faster focus recovery), Insight (Increases Destroyer Damage), Quicken, Minimize (Less Health Drain), Wraith, Reduce
Comments: This skill is great for the start of missions because its like a free destroyer or an Intensity, but overall I really don't like this skill and think its the worst Claw skill because of its high risk-average rewards (way too easy to get killed from this) but you can get some abilities to lessen the risk. The Weapon gauge fills fast, and when you execute a Destroyer you do a special attack with increased damage (about as strong as the Insight ability). For old weapons of Toukiden 1, you'll do the United Destroyer animation of that weapon from Toukiden Kiwami (but it will still only break 1 part). What bothers me about this skill is the cooldown is not affected by how early you end it. So you should really save this skill for when your weapon gauge is completley empty, preferbly just after you used a Destroyer.
Notable mitama:
----------
PLN Armor = Subjugation: (Activated by using Destroyers or your Weapon's Circle attacks): Causes nearby Oni to flinch.
Abilities: Amplify, Extend (Increases the duration of all other active skills), Leech, Absorb, Heal (Removes Ailments), Reduce
Comments: Its a simple but effective skill that can also be triggered manually but since it's mapped to your weapon's Circle attack its so very easy to set it off accidentally when it could be done at better time like knocking down flyers. Avoid using Destroyers with this skill ready to use since Destroyers are going to make Oni flinch anyway

New battle style! CON (Control)
==========
Notable damage-type mitama:
----------
CON Battle style
----------
Passive: When in Purification stance you use the D-pad to change the element for your summoned skills (They will not change when active so do it beforehand). Purifying parts with CON skills active will extend its duration
Passive abilities: CON Master: Extend, Element (There's 1 for each element, they give buffs to you when you set to a certain element. Fire: Attack & Precision, Water: Health Leech, Wind: Movement & Attack Speed. Earth: Physical & Elemental Defense, Sky: Elemental Attack)
[] skill (Summon Follower) description: Summons a spirit that attacks when you do. It will spin around you to attack when you are in purification stance.
[] skill Abilities: Accuracy, Damage, Counter, Attributes, Exploit, Purify, Destroy, Support, Reduce, Stock, Time (Some of these like Damage and Support i do not fully understand yet, sorry)
Triangle skill (Summon Striker) description: Summons a spirit that lower the elemental defense of the oni you recently attacked. Staying in Purification puts it in encampment mode where it sets up an area that nullifies elemental attacks from oni.
Triangle skill Abilities: Amplify, Augment (faster to set up encampment), Bonus (Improves Focus Rate), Surprise, Purify, Reduce, Stock, Time
O skill (Summon Bastion) description: Summons a powerful ranged spirit that automatically attacks. It attacks at a faster rate when you are in purification stance.
O skill Abilities: Attributes, Attract, Nimble (Spirit attacks faster), Destroy, Geopulse (Leaves a Geopulse like Tamamo-no-Mae's Unique), Teleport (Swap places with spirit when going into purification stance), Reduce, Stock, Time
Comments: The new class is a very interesting one. Its basically an elemental summoner class. The summoned spirits deal elemental damage, can be enhanced by elemental abilities like Knowledge and switching their elements at will means rarely being at an elemental disadvantage. (Keep in mind this doesn't affect YOUR weapon's element and there are a few oni still neutral or resistant to all elements like Petros.) So this means CON elemental builds on multiple oni missions will do better than other class elemental builds but they will still be at a disadvantage vs non-elemental builds. To my understanding, encapment mode for the Striker skill affects all elemental damage not just the chosen element so you don't have to worry about switching elements before and after using this.
Notable battle style mitama:
----------
CON Claw = Summon Disciple: Summon a spirit that is non-elemental that attacks automatically and restores your health and focus when attacking. However your Elemental defense is lowered while its out.
Abilities: Amplify, Attributes, Counter, Extend (Purifying body parts extends its duration), Reduce, Time.
Comments: This is the only restoring based Claw skill (not counting Absorb abilities for Contagion and Quicksilver) so its handy when you have trouble surviving however the 2 disadvantages this claw skill has is it has the longest cooldown of about 4 minutes and the lowered Elemental defense put you at risk of being one shotted since some of the most strongest attacks deal elemental damage. This feels like a Claw skill aimed at novice players.
Notable mitama:
----------
CON Armor = Summon Decoy (Activates when purifying a part): Summons a spirit that acts like a mine. It will explode to damage oni when they touch it and cause them to flinch
Abilities: Attributes, Reduce, Teleport (Mine moves to you when going into purification stance), Lure (Mine attracts oni), Potency (Restores Health and Focus when it detonates), Sanctity (Purifies nearby parts on detonation)
Comments: The only damage dealing Armor skill, but like Summon Disciple it also has similiar disadvanatages. It too has the longest cooldown of all the armor skills and you have to participate at least partially in part purifying to have this skill activate which may cause some trouble or DPS loss.

Can you give me advice by any chance, which build to choose for a longsword? I went through a LOT of your build advice in the spreadsheet and put in a lot of effort to switch back and forth, to actually read skill descriptions but I kinda feel like I got absolutly nothing out of all that. ^^''
Like it felt way easier in kiwami, where I knew I wanted the 2 sword skills (gougue and something else I belive?) but it seems to be kinda impossible to get them this time with a SPD build, which is fine since I decided to become more open minded towards other builds as well. But still any advice?
Miyamoto Musashi (ATK)
---
Devastation
Gouge Master
Unique: Devotion + Fervor
Sakanoue no Tamuramaro (ATK)
---
Might+ (Nimble)
Swordsmanship
Unique: Tempered Blade + Shadow Gouge+ (Nimble)
Ashikaga Yoshiteru (ATK)
---
Fervor
Flying Blade OR Luminescence+ (Accuracy)
Unique: Devastation + Heroes' Rally
its me again! There is one thing that I really really do not understand and also did not understand it in kiwami. How exactly do I figure out what Weapon I need for a build? Your gamefaqs Thread for example has some really cool builds but I know for a fact that some are only working with elemental weapons, others rely on raw damage or high crit. Especially figuring out if a weapon has to be elemental is really though for me, especially in combination with the new class that can switch elements.
Specifically I am interested in this one :
Armor: Amakusa Shiro (HLG)
=====
Heroes' Rally
Protection of Heroes
Unique: Innate qualities - Restart+
------------------
https://youtu.be/pJ7eDag5cCA
Weapon: Himiko (RPT)
=====
Knowledge
RPT Triangle+ (Amplify)
Unique: Demon road of consumer: RPT Triangle (Time), RPT Triangle Camp will lower Oni's Elemental Def.
Claw: Abe no Seimei (RPT)
=====
Convert Attack (Attributes) (Greatly increases Elemental damage at the cost of Attack)
RPT Claw+ (Attributes)
Unique: According Shi demon - Active RPT Skills reduce damage taken and increases damage given
A heavy Elemental build which amplifies the RPT Claw skill which restores Health and Focus, so your Health and Focus will be near infinite while its active. So when its over spam recover till Restart+ triggers then do it all over again. The only downside is its an elemental build that has you blow all your recoveries. It'll be almost suicide using this on missions with 2 or more different oni.
It seems to have really fast clear time and I like the aspect of being flexible with elements. Did you by any chance figure out another build that is similiar but simply faster? Or works better with swords, since I saw the youtuber using daggers for that build (does it matter?)
. I tried to put on the build's name in the spreadsheet what type you should be using, but there can be some confusion or i messed up badly when it comes to poison. Because the Contagion skill instantly poisons so some builds make use of some abilities for just that.
Try to look for certain names or words to help determine
Precision: Verity, Accuracy, Swordsmanship, Devastation, Heroe's Rally
Elemental: Attributes, Knowledge
Ailment: Surprise, Exploit, Affliction
Raw: Rage, Attack, Devotion
But there is sometimes the very rare case of getting stuck with something that doesn't work. Amakusa Shiro's Heroes' Rally for example even though your going with an elemental build
I'm afraid i can't.
I got the vita version (My new PC is just a little off from running this) and Steam won't let people make guides for a game if they don't own it on PC.
This was mostly to give some insight before release (There's a good chunk of errors and incorrect information now that the game is out). Plus this mitama thread was a bit rushed as you can see because the Playstation demo for Toukiden 2 came out earlier than expected
I have heard people can invite contributers who don't own the game to their guides. Any future guide makers are more than welcome to invite me to theirs
