A turn-based wargame set against the backdrop of China’s Liberation War in the aftermath of World War II. When war broke out in 1946, the Nationalist forces boasted over 4 million troops, supplemented by 2 million surrendered Japanese and puppet troops, more than 1 million secret service personnel, and around 300,000 British and American garrison troops, alongside 200,000 air force personnel and 30,000 navy servicemen. Their combined strength totalled nearly 8 million. The Communist forces, by contrast, had a nominal strength of 1.27 million, with roughly another 3 million militiamen and transport corps, yet 90% of their troops were armed with cold weapons. The disparity between the two sides was enormous. Amid the emerging Cold War rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union, the Chinese Civil War erupted.

Players take command of the People’s Liberation Army. You will live through the shifting balance of power, from the breakout in the Central Plains and the Seven Victories in Seven Battles in the Central Jiangsu Campaign, to the gruelling battles of Menglianggu and East Henan, then onward to the three decisive strategic campaigns: Liaoshen, Huaihai and Pingjin. As the campaign unfolds, enemy manpower is steadily wiped out, while your army grows stronger through combat, gradually turning the tide in troop numbers and equipment. Finally, you lead 500,000 seasoned troops across the Yangtze River to liberate the whole of China.

The game adopts a classic grid-based wargame battlefield. Enemy AI replicates historical tactics, including multi-pronged encirclement and concentrated assaults. Every battle restores authentic troop deployments. You must make tactical trade-offs with limited forces and defeat stronger enemies by annihilating their main formations. It supports level save files and battle replays; units that suffer losses will be permanently removed from your roster.

The flames of war on the Korean Peninsula in the 1950s marked the ultimate trial for China during its transition from cold to modern firearms. In June 1950, the war ignited. The Korean People’s Army pushed south and confined the South Korean army to the Busan perimeter for a time. The tide reversed sharply after the Incheon Landing, as the 14-nation coalition drove northward, advancing all the way to the banks of the Yalu River. Faced with this peril, the Chinese People’s Volunteers crossed the Yalu and marched into a foreign battlefield.

With no air superiority, almost no armoured forces, and supply lines perpetually exposed to the United Nations Air Force, the Volunteers relied on flanking manoeuvres, close-quarters combat and night fighting. By concentrating superior strength on local battlefields, they repelled wave after wave of enemy offensives. Over five major campaigns, the frontline shifted back and forth. Once the fighting settled into a stalemate of positional warfare, tunnels became their shield, artillery power steadily improved, and victories on the battlefield strengthened China’s hand at the negotiation table. This was far more than a contest of manpower. It marked the end of a century of conflict between China and Western powers.

A turn-based wargame recreating the brutal struggle on the Korean Peninsula from 1950 to 1953. On one side stands the United Nations Command, dominant in air power, armour and firepower. On the other are the Chinese People’s Volunteers and the Korean People’s Army, leveraging mountain terrain, night operations and infiltration tactics. Supply lines, terrain and timing decide victory or defeat. You may command the Volunteers and Korean People’s Army, laying ambushes amid the bitter cold of Chosin Reservoir, or settling into tunnel defences along the 38th Parallel for a prolonged standoff.
