Feedback Welcome | About the Optimization of Auto Challenge Feature
Recently we optimized the Auto Challenge function, which evoked wide discussion in the community.

The Auto Challenge function was introduced in the update on April 18th. And, at that time we also announced that the Auto Challenge mode, especially for solo battle, would last for 1 month. (See the fifth point from this announcement: Optimization of AR Amulet Summon and Steam Achievement Unlocked | Updates on April 18th from 2:00 - 5:00 (EST))

After observing the game data for one month, we found the Auto Challenge function influenced social activeness in the game. Players no longer teamed up for combat or had group chats as often as before, which did harm to the game’s social ecosystem.

In order to maintain our players’ game experience as well as preserve a positive environment for all, we made adjustments to Auto Challenge in the May 23rd update.

An ideal Auto Challenge is to let the player enjoy the game better with the help of the paper doll, but not to make them lose all sense of participation. We will work on how to balance the Auto Challenge function within the game.

At the same time, suggestions on how to improve the current Auto Challenge are welcomed. You can leave your constructive advice in the community or directly contact us. We sincerely appreciate all your feedback and we will do our best to improve every player’s gameplay experience.

we have this thing called "messenger", steam chat or "discord", we do talk to each other there OUTSIDE the game interface... and our topic there were just some rants on why there is a limit on the auto challenge feature... we used to play more time back then (auto challenge costs ap and coins), but now, since it will have a limit (and if it continues), we might play less time on this game. In before, we used to burn out 1,200 AP up to 1,600 AP just for farming soul 10, now we might not be able to do that because the limit per day is only 5 times or 500ap total...... also the mochi requirement increases over time, no mochi, has limit on consumption of mochi, expensive mochi = less time for auto challenge, no time for chat because you will be doing manual, Manual is boring, takes too much time, wastes too much time. It's a domino effect.

lets say 1 minute per run = 4 AP
500 AP would only be just 1 Hour and 25 Minutes

after you've reached the limit, you've got nothing else to do!, so you exit the game and wait for another day...
totalling around 2 hours per day game time only if this new type of auto challenge feature continues..

I would say that if you are going to continue with the sakuramochi as paperdoll fuel, I would ask for at least one free refill a day and some assured way of obtaining sakuramochi. Say give us a sakuramochi generator in our realm that would generate something like one basic refill per two to three days on basic level and could be upgraded up to one basic refill per day (by basic refill I mean 10 sakuramochi in the current environment).

The loss of easy auto function is quiet problematic for me as I tend to let the game play in the background while I do work on my computer. When it comes to teamwork and social activities me and the people from my friend list have free time to talk on different times due to being from different timezones.

We talk but not very often. To be truthfull when I am on computer I use a completely different applications to communicate with people.

or you can REMOVE the limit, mochi will become a loot (spoils or drops per run), only consumes 10 mochi per recharge [do not increase requirement] or just remove the mochi totally and revert it back to AP + coin

Thanks for all your feedback. Actually 50 Sakuramochies were sent daily this week by in-game email. We can understand players’ need of auto challenge. It is part of our plan to balance the effort of getting sakuramochi.

Auto or not, I don't see much conversation during extended runs. You have 3 screen transitions per soul 10 clear (beating soul 10 -> starting screen, starting screen -> party screen, party screen -> soul 10) which interrupts attempt to chat in game. About all anyone ever said during runs is if they're out of AP or if they're going to leave for other reasons. Whether someone is using an autoclicker, paper dolls, or mindlessly hitting 'ready' every 30 seconds, there still wouldn't be much interaction during the farming process because it's a repetitive thing that goes for hours.

thank you for the mochis!~ Tthat's only good for a 10-hour worth of auto-challenge.. after may 31's it'll be just 30 minutes per day game time :D thank you for limiting us to play your game, you care so much about our health and social life, that would trigger me to go to the park for the rest of the day

To me, the fun part of this game is not tied to manually doing soul runs and tapping once each minute. Souls is merely a necessary grind in the game for the fun content, namely competing with friends, pvp, and guild bosses. This new auto system does nothing to encourage social interaction if that was the goal. Personally the only difference is now I can’t grind as many souls. The benefit of “social interaction” is nowhere near enough for me to tap once a minute for an hour. If you don’t go back to the old system, at least consider adding more ways to obtain mochi. The 20 from daily quests is nowhere near enough, you’d be lucky to even get a single g6 soul from the amount of runs 200 auto ap gives, let alone a usable soul.

There is nothing wrong with how the auto feature was before the update. Using AP for refill worked perfectly fine. However, saying user interactions declined due to the auto feature is kind of stupid on your end. The chat system in game is gimmicky and subpar. The keyboard is wonky, constantly having to click the chat button between screen changes (such as realm to main screen etc...) is clumsy; and the ridiculous word sensor for profanity is funny since anyone with half a brain can surpass it (however I always find it funny that we can never say AkaSHITa, since it has ♥♥♥♥ in it...superb).
So...back to what your claim about chat being underused due to auto feature, please stop trying to take away a much needed feature in the game for pretty much all players, f2p as well as those who spend in the game. While you are at it, maybe look into fixing the actual issue you have brought up, which is the chat system itself.
Also, maybe focus on more events and content since I don't think the events page has changed for over a month now, which for a gatcha game is pretty lame.
Please stop half-assing the global version. The game needs events and more incentives to play, not another layer of drudgery for an already time-consuming task such as soul farming.

In game chat system is terrible. Most guilds and friend groups use outside means to communicate, such as Discord or various messenger apps. This is not something that happened simply as a result of the Auto Challenge update, things were already like this. Even from the start of the game many guilds listed their Discord invite links for their members to have a better means of communication. This excuse about Auto influencing "social activeness" in the game is just that, an excuse.

People use Auto to farm more efficiently without having to constantly babysit the game during such a mindless task. The majority of the time players spend in this game is farming souls. There is no social activity in soul farming. Adding more restrictions to a feature that is meant to ease the burden of how absolutely boring farming can be is not how you "let the player enjoy the game better," and the fact Onmyoji devs from any region of the game think so is nothing short of baffling and out of touch.

Most of this game is about farming. Farming is very tedious and very boring. Auto eliminates some of this problem. Imposing senseless restrictions on Auto and making even using Auto tedious will upset your playerbase.

if you want social. you need to make the chat system better:
lets say, for soul 10(zone explor even worse as the fight is short). you have only 30-40sec to chat(soul 10 usually last 30-40sec). and then reward durama loading pop iup block chatting, back to yard, team dismiss, chat dismiss.you need regroup and fight again. all those act block chating, need player to clicks too much.
if you really want chatting. make the chat window not block/dismiss by the reward durama loading, do not dimiss the team nor back to yard everytime we finish a soul 10, .keep the team so we have more time to type in chat rather than click regroup/loading. keep the chat window./

please bring the old auto back....
if you want to put sakuramochi as food at least give us a way to farm those since right now you can only get 20from daily and SUPER SUPER DUPER RARE bounty quest which only gives about 3 MOCHI when we need a 10 MOCHI at least to feed the 1st one ,and 2 from Demon Encounter how are we supposed to use the auto if you implement the system half heartedly....
it is just screwing a lot of people and people are using the macro again(which is bannable) coz they have no choice ,they are busy with works too but want to farm to keep up...

The whole point of the paper doll system is to set it and let it farm on its own without limits. And from my experience, what is there to chat about exactly when you're farming souls, evo materials etc.I think you completely misunderstood the whole system. Even if you were so adamant about keeping the new system, at least give us a higher limit that we can store and not increase the amount needed per refill.

The devs don't understand that many friends and guilds use external means of chatting because the ingame chat is clunky and not particularly user friendly. It has nothing to do with auto, I can chat far easily outside of the game while using auto because I'm not constantly interrupted by screen loads. I do most of my chatting and planning about the game outside of the game. If kraken or demon seal comes up for example, I am far more likely to open steam chat or discord and ask a friend if they want those than I am to open ingame chat (which isn't always available on certain screens to begin with).

Don't blame lack of socialization on the dang auto.

17 in my friend list is inactive already... :'( i hate to delete them in my friend list.. any update on this thread? i bet they dont like the mochi thingy.. and the limit to farming...

it's here since may, and despite the comments here we still have no answer from the Onmyoji Team...

I have pretty much nothing to add... Everybody has said what's wrong...

The Recharge limits are to be increased or Removed.

The Sakuramochi cost has to be decreased or removed, and if not removed, we need a better way to be able to at least be able to spend all the daily recharges if we want to...

Currently it costs 90 sakuramochi to completely use the Paperdoll in a day... we only win 20 a day + 100 weekly from maintenance....

Which is not enough for us to farm on a daily basis, thus restraining our gaming time, and further more, leading to less interaction with other players...
