Alphabet
The Chinese writing system uses a non-alphabetic script. So that, there is no original Chinese alphabet. All of Chinses alphabets is a phonetic alphabet that is used for marking pronunciation of Chinese characters. And most of Chinses alphabets is a Romanization system, such as Pinyin (which is used in most of Chinese-speaking areas) and Wade-Giles. Zhuyin (which is used in Taiwan) is a an exception, but actually it is a semi-syllabary.
Characters
There are two major type of Chinese characters. One is Traditional Chinese characters which are currently used in Taiwan and Hongkong, and the other is Simplified Chinese characters which are currently used in China, Singapore and Malaysia.
So, I don't know what do you need.
By the way, I have something to tell you.
In Taiwan, The ministry of education of republic of China (Taiwan) make a list named "Standard Typefaces for Chinese Characters " which includes 4,808 characters.
In HongKong, "List of Graphemes of commonly-used Chinese Characters" is a list of 4,762 commonly used Chinese characters by the Hong Kong Education Bureau.
In mainland China, "List of Frequently Used Characters in Modern Chinese" is a list of 3,500 frequently used Chinese characters by government of China.
It is difficult to find out the character and meaning of them.
I suggest that you list words which you want to use them and someone may help you to translation to Chinese.
For example,
Chinese dragon
龍(Traditional Chinese)
龙(Simplified Chinese)
(Иероглифов полно в маджонгах))

月, 火, 水, 木, 金, 土, 日. these characters refer to a lot of things
赤, 橙, 黄, 绿, 青, 蓝, 紫, 黑, 白, 灰. some colors
东, 西, 南, 北, 中. directions
一, 二, 三, 四, 五, 六, 七, 八, 九, 十, 百, 千, 万. numbers
You can choose some typical Chinese characters, such as 一(one) 二(two),,these are numbers.红(red),绿(green),you can use English-Chineee dictionary to get more meaning of the Chinese characters.
Hope my suggestion is useful.
