Why is it on Steam and why is it still alive

The first answer is still cashscam with an old terrible cheap Pay2Win game and Valve don´t have a qualitycontroll.

I know that game as the worst MMO ever.
Where GMs are doing nothing other then insulting people and f*ck them up with spawncamping and pulling them to death or spawning mass bosses to kill other people that are grinding.
And they don´t lose the job because they are "normal" players (because 99% of the playerbase are jerks, that only play the game to insult and hate each other) and don´t get any money for it.

For me and the most other people this game was dead allready after release.
The only thing why this exists is because they getting money for holding the server alive because some jerks spend far to much money on this game.

Oh and in this game it´s very easy to steal items out of the shops from other people and hacking in general.
There is no point in playing it or even more stupid use money for buying anything.

2. This game could not even possible be in my childhood with my age ( /sarcasm again on ) but it´s okay to call people with more knowledge and experience nerds and if they don´t have your opinion by reasons then it´s okay to call them angry and to feel even better call them kids.

3. I have eyes, i have ears, can read and i know people that played the game (reasons why they are played the game: you can flame, you can troll, you can fk up other people and you get away with it)
But you are more like a person that need to do everything to know how it is.

Met a few decent people while playing this years ago, sadly the hacking/botting along with the obvious P2W made my Metin 2 experience a rather short one.

I don't really think this game belongs on steam to be honest ...

True. I played this game like 8 years ago, and was rubbish. I spent literally one month farming a special level 30 sword just to get two units and lose them when upgrading them to +2. Worst MMO ever. Private servers were the only way to get some fun in this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

Why should i?
As if i would care.
I was only responding and didn´t bring the theme up.
The first stuff i saw is that it´s not a privatserver and why should i trust a QA guy from gameforge, that is working for the Interests of the firm.
Because he is working for gameforge give him for me zero credibility without source.
And if he said the truth then, well... should maybe someone say it a bit more official and not only in a small tread in a forum about the brasilien server(that´s the worst), that you don´t find after fast research about the theme.

- You can only read a single skillbook every 24 hrs ... or use item shop.
- faster XP, more loot, more gold? ... use item shop
- prevent your item from being destroyed when trying to upgrade it ... item shop
- talk with people from the other two kingdoms? ... item shop

Yes, it's possible to play without spending a dime, but keep in mind that you'll need a *LOT* more time/luck/patience when you're trying to get somewhere.
