Hello! The store page for Tonari Days is now open.

When you work alone, it's easy to drift off, or to lose track of time and forget to rest. Tonari is a companion who spends your work and study time right beside you. Somehow it's easier to keep going when someone is there, and Tonari puts that feeling on your desktop.

She is cheerful, a little clingy, and in love with books and words. The star in her hair is her favorite thing.

• What she says changes with the time of day, the day of the week, the season and the weather. In the morning it's "Morning! Did you have breakfast?", and if you're up late, "Hello, night owl. Don't push yourself, okay?"

• Pat her head and she leans into it. Leave her alone for a while and she may doze off.

• She calls you by the nickname you choose, and celebrates your birthday and the days you've spent together.

• Every one of her 800+ lines is voiced.

Just watch her, work alongside her with the timer, poke her to see how she reacts, or ask her to read your screen aloud or handle things on your PC. Our goal is to make her a companion for studying, for work and for streaming alike.

• Work with you: start the focus timer (Pomodoro) and she opens a book and works quietly too.

• Read to you: pick text on your screen and she reads it aloud. Point at a word you don't know and she translates it.

• Keep your day: she remembers your to-dos and plans, and lets you know when a plan is coming up.

• Set the mood: lo-fi music and ambient sounds that change with the time of day and your breaks.

• Listen to you: turn on the microphone and ask her by voice to start the timer, open an app and more.

Translation, reading aloud and voice recognition all run on your own PC.

• A bookshelf: put a book on it and she reads it to you, picking up where you stopped

• Reading aloud in your own language's voice

• Looking up words folded into reading aloud: click a word in the sentence she's reading and she translates it

• More lines, gestures and expressions

• New lines and backgrounds that unlock as you spend time together

• Sharing characters and lines through Steam Workshop

What we add, and in what order, will follow your feedback.

We'd love to hear your thoughts and requests in the Steam discussions. If Tonari caught your eye, adding her to your wishlist helps us a lot.
