Seriously though, it's an overrated noob weapon. People pick it because it one-hit-kills on headshots, and sprays from the hip relatively comfrotably, so they basically lotto their shots.

it depends on whether you want a hardpuncher or not. The best guns are in the Medal shop. The SR-47 probably being the best hard puncher, the AK's are still a good choice both AK's stats are the same though they seem to feel different ingame with the 47 feeling more unstable, I prefer the AK12 to the 47 with the added bonus of a red dot sight is nice to.

The M4 and MDR are the better soft punchers I havnt really used both much but i prefer the M4.

The mk14 is an interesting choice if you like a semi auto hard hitting battle rifle thats almost like a sniper rifle.

If you're looking for easy to control rifles, go with the R5 for gold guns. If you have the medals, either get the S15, the M4 Custom, or the MDR. All of them are really good choices if that's what you're looking for.

In terms of sidearms, go for the R45. I think most can agree it's the most well rounded pistol in the game.

Guns I would reccomend you stay away from would be:

- Shotguns - They got nerfed into the ground and they're outclassed in almost every situation including point blank.

- LMG's - Unless you're planning on playing Destruction mode a lot, they're honestly not that great anywhere else.

- MSR - Although I honestly like this sniper quite a bit and use it more than both the Blaser and the DSR, it tags too much to reccomend using it. Unless you got some good aim and feel confident you can hit 2 shots in quick succession in-case it does tag, stay away from the MSR.

- Kriss Vector - SMG's just aren't that great in general. If you're going to use one, get the P90, SIZ, or just use the MP7. The Kriss just feels like it underperforms compared to the other 3 and it's kinda sad since I really like the gun.

There are 3 main types of ARs (ARs being the most popular weapon class used): Lasers (low damage, high ROF, little recoil), Hard Punchers (high damage, low ROF, high recoil) and Balanced that are somewhere in between.

Each type has a "best" option, but this option is the best on paper.

You should really test out the different temporary weapons (free DLCs has most of them) in practice mode against an unmoving bot, then again in a custom match against bots that fight back and then in real TDMs.

Having the "best gun" won't make you great or even good, having the best gun for YOU might thou, well at least it will make the game more enjoyable then forcing yourself to play a gun you dislike because it's "the best".

much like everyone else who posted here it's what kind of playstyle bias you want:

"lasers" aka full auto with easy recoil control and little acuracy loss: TAR-21, R5 GL, Kriss
Bullet hoses: MP7, P90, SIZMPX
1 taps for your single-hit headshot needs: AK47/AK12, SR-47 GL

Everything else far as weapons go are just middle grounds between these weapons, like the HNK416 for example, is very close to 1-tap for a headshot but does 96, it can 1 shot fatal but that's something that's very difficult to preform.

That is the stupidest thing I have read. Most of the assault rifles have very minimal and very controllable recoil EXCEPT for the AK. If you aim for the head an miss, you are going to have a much harder time readjusting to hit your target than with any of the other assault rifles. A high risk/high reward weapon is the exact opposite of a noob weapon.
