Tax-Force launches into Early Access November 10th!

Oct 16

Early Access Launch
In just under one month’s time, Tax-Force goes live into Steam Early Access.

On 10th of November, you'll be able to hunt down tax-evading billionaire through a full 7-cycle gameplay loop.

The launch build challenges you with fighting sycophantic goons and personal security through Fortuna City and the Drill-It Mines, take down a giant robot boss and survive a challenge wave room.

The biggest request we’ve received so far is that you want to actually fight more of the billionaires. We’ve listened to your feedback, and have been updating the game with mini-boss fights!

For Early Access launch, you’ll confront 3 Tax-evading Billionaires that you can actually punch, kick, laser and blast!

And just like a comic book, we're planning to release monthly "issues", with new villains for you to fight.

We have 16 targets to choose from, and we want your feedback! Which billionaires should we focus on next? What cool superpowers should they have? And what would make these mini-boss fights really awesome?

We'll be listening to our community and look forward to hearing your feedback when Tax-Force launches into Early Access on Steam on the 10th of November!

Respawn Bug

Whenever I get sent back to the beginning of the week, my progress gets wiped but other stuff doesn't: The shops stay open, and the medic keeps the discount even though the Public Resource that caused it is gone. The choice of what billionaire to go after stays the same. The Tutorial benefits stay gone. The levels stay just as branching, even if you can't access all those branches without the Infrastructure Cards; this includes bringing the Day 3 Robot Boss back to Day 1....

Devblog #04 – Fortuna City Biome

Mar 13

Welcome to another edition of the Tax-Force devblog!

With this latest issue, we reveal our brand new, second biome - Fortuna City and some of its unique features.

Acid Rain

DRILLIT’s unregulated mining process has kicked up tons of toxic dust and gas into the Farset’s environment, causing acid rain to fall periodically throughout the domed city of Fortuna. It is toxic enough to burn through your armour, so direct exposure drains your health.

The city’s affluent upper layer sees the most rainfall and is patrolled by armoured security guards. The lower slums, while offering protection from the rain, are home to explosive, dangerous mutants.

You’ll need to choose your path through the city that best suits your abilities.

Upgrade your city

You can choose to put those hard-won tax credits to invest in the city’s infrastructure for a safer path through the city.

Investments in Public Infrastructure will add features for safer traversal, including Rain Shelters throughout the city, fund Fire Fighter drones and even a public transport bus service that will protect you from the rain while riding.

Invest in business

If you instead decide to reinvest your tax-credits in private companies, you’ll find the D.E.B.T easier to pay off, but will find the city more of a challenge, with changes that include upgraded private security drones, an increase in dangerous hovercars, and hazard materials dumped in the slums.

New EnemiesFortuna City is home to several new vicious enemies you'll need to work through while hunting your target. Including Ratz Trap - a cowardly scavenger mutant who drops proximity mines from their swag bag, and Street Mine - an explosive mutant with a mine for a head! You'll need to move fast to avoid the mine's massive range, or use a tactical kick to launch the head at gangs of enemy mutants.

Street Mine goes Ka-BOOM!

We hope this update was enough to tease your interest in Fortuna City - let us know what you think below, or over on our Discord[discord.com]!

What are Critical Hits?

2 of the passive cards from the weapon shop have special effects on critical hits but it's never explained how to get them (whether they're random or skill-based), what happens on a crit without those passives, or how to recognise a crit when you see one. Also, with both of those passives, the different rarities have the exact same description and cost. Are you meant to only be able to have one of each kind of card? because buying a second copy takes the money but you still only have one of them....

Jump Button sometimes stops working

Happens mostly in the Tutorial fight before the week starts, maybe because it's laggier than the rest, but still occasionally happens in other levels. It's not my controller, the A button works fine as a way to exit the pause menu when this happens. So far it only goes away when I press each of the other 3 face buttons separately....

Taxes Good

We cannot and should not socialize the losses of the billionaire/parasite class while they exploit our labor. Those welfare leeches should not be financed; they should get real jobs. I will Happily wait for the full release and will there be another Demo? I would like to try it....
