Spotting hills and crests is key though. So make sure you prioritise good lighting as well as frame-times over render-resolution.
freesync on, vsync off and fps bouncing between 70 and 90 (in-game limiter on 90) plays well for me (rx580; 2560x1080).
I'm not sure what you mean. There are plenty of camera options in-game already.
Yes, it probably is a "controllers first" game, as it fits the modern age that way. BUT: it is one of the few that plays really well on keyboard. Probably not gonna top the leaderboards using one without devoting your entire time to doing so - but keyboard-play is actually catered for in this title unlike most other current-day arcade racing titles that are developed for or mainly target modern games-consoles. I, too, prefer actual sims otherwise - but this one I can actually enjoy not being one. I feel the developer made a few crucial and very right decisions on how to focus the gameplay and actually try something new that works - and feels so oldschool as a result.
Hence I encourage anyone to at least give it a try without insisting on wheel-support.
