All this crazy madness over this model, but did anyone stop to use any logical thought?
Sounds to me it's a basic simple 3 strike policy if my research was correct:
1) fan art copyright infringement?
2) "Loshi", the model's original creator and owner, wasn't credited or asked.
3) either the model itself, or the images and screenshots used, were against Steam's policies.
Guess I'm one of the few who just gets it.
There was also a post made by Loshi himself stating theft (wasn't credited) the first time.
However, in the favor of those of you who like the model, his download site states:
GIVE PROPER CREDIT WHEN PORTING TO MMD OR OTHER GAMES BY LINKING TO MY TWITTER PAGE. DO NOT RE-UPLOAD
Loshi's use of capitals, not me.
So he'd have to clarify the "re-upload" part, I'm guessing that's the original 3D model.
Now I'd also like to add, I'm not familiar with the whole story of who or what "Bowsette" is.
But there does seem to be other alternative versions of "her" in different outfits.
Perhaps keep that in mind when you want to try to upload "her" again if "she's" removed again.
And yes, use of quotes, because as I said, I don't know this character's story.
1) is it copyrighted? this particular mod.
2) if it is not copyrighted and you created and put it out on the web - should it be hosted on steam? (imo, not at all but just an opinion)
3) this is more likely.
however, if you created the model why wouldn't you just upload it yourself at this point, reap the glory if that is your beef? so probably not 1 or 2. more likely 3 with complaints against it.
my impression is confusion and communication issues between the two creators.
(the original 3D model and the ported L4D2 model).
Now to let you know you still have an option if you just simply don't want it in L4D2 at all.
This is why I sent you a friend request because the discussion forums aren't the place for it.
Just wanted to simply let you know you can still protect your work here.
hope you two sort it out, it seems to have a cult following. not really a fan of this but nice work on the models. when peach goes wild amirite.
I gonna explain who the hell is "Bowsette".
"Bowsette" is a genderswap of Bowser who's wearing new item from new Super Mario game called "Super Crown" that transformed any females into Princess Peach lookalike. but some people misunderstood its ability and drawing a fanart of "what if Bowser is wearing this Crown?". then boom, the stupid and kinky fad of "Bowsette" was born.
honestly not my type of mod obviously but the controversy had me curious.
I don't know what's crazier, the discussion comments or the workshop comments.
there's people really thinking they can just keep re-uploading it and Steam won't care.
as well as trying to be clever deleting comments and blocking people, as if it changes anything.
but hey, if they want to feel lucky fighting bans I guess we'll sit back and enjoy the show.
at least it was cleared up by Loshi that he's fine with crediting.
so what about that other guy who was first with the port? he could still file a DMCA on Shinobi.
oh well, guess I'm just one of the few who finds it odd how far people want to push Steam.
just like it's funny to me people who don't understand why stuff is removed.
