No free edicts error?
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with too many entities, because when I load up a super hordes mod on my map, it just crashes with that error before the cutscene begins.

If that's the case, why does it happen to me? My map doesn't have that many entities compared to a map like Back 2 School, which is long and very highly detailed, or even Suicide Blitz.

I wish I could refer to my old SPUF posts on the subject. But edicts are consumed by pretty much all entities. So on a full map, you can easily hit the limit at runtime spawning things.

Well, again, why doesn't it happen to a map like Back 2 School, which has a level where I can run Super Hordes on it and not crash, meanwhile that level is really long and very detailed.

Static props, details sprites don't count towards it Entity_Limit

Ahhh, I see. I should start replacing some prop_dynamics, as I thought back when I made that 1st level that prop_dynamics had better shadows and stuff. Turns out they don't really.

Dynamic have worse shadows if anything. For static it will mostly rely on your lightmap scale around the prop

I've hit just about every limit with my pig of a project, I really wish I knew SPUF forums were going away, had lots of notes on stuff like that. Would have backed it up

Yeah, the shadows are really annoying, they go through walls, and they don't come a light source.

I think they use whichever is closest to the entity
