Add custom voice files?
I wanted to edit a mod to give the characters custom voices, how do I do this? (I want to edit a pre existing mod, not create a new one. Also the mod doesn't have any custom voices they just use the normal ones.)

Go to the above path and you will find folders for each of the characters. You should be able to replace the sound files. I have not done it, so I don't know that it works, but I recently disabled the voices by renaming the folders like this "/coach/" -> "/.coach/" (I added a dot to the directory names).

Changing the dir names successfully disabled the voices, so I assyume that replacing them with links voice will make them sound like link.

It's not that simple, for one you have to check the bitrate of the files and they have to match or they may not work properly. You cannot use 48000hz bitrates at all as the game doesn't support that bitrate, and replacing a 22050hz file with a 44100hz file, or the other way around will cause major audio glitches, maybe not even work at all. You can use Audacity, https://www.audacityteam.org/download/ a sound editing program, to edit the files to get them how they need to be. Also note the files must be .wav format files, or they won't play, as the game looks for .wav files, and you'll get console errors up the wazzoo if you try to use MP3 or other types of audio files. One last note is that all your replacement files have to have the same name as the originals, for the same reason as the files have to be .wav. It's a huge pain in the ass, I know but all these steps need to be followed to make the sounds play properly, and not be super high, or low pitched, or just not work in general.

Edit: I forgot files being too long or too short may cause glitches as well, but isn't absolutely mandatory to make them the same length, but they may have unintended side effects if too long or too short.
