L4D2 launch error

My l4d2 will NOT launch. I got rid of the files because there was an error with a gun (not modded), and re-installed the game and now when I try to launch the game it says its not available, try again later. Is there a fix for this? Is anyone else having this problem? Please help!

I am having the same problem also right after valve's so called tank fix. My game stops in the loading screen. Seems this happens a lot with valve games....

Try this I uploaded the gamedata folder from sourcemod to my server and that fixed the problem...

I'm having the same damn problem. I had to verify file integrity three different times last night, and upon the third time, during the course of the 'missing file being downloaded', my download was suspened. It finally downloaded today when I logged on. However I just went to play it and I'm getting "The game is not available, please try again later" AGAIN. This is rediculous, in the course of owning this game I have spent more time re-downloading files I should already have, than actually playing it. Even at $9.99, I can't help but feel like this was a complete waste of my money, which is sad because I love this game.

I had to verify my files again today, and was just playing. Everything was fine, we'll see if it stays that way.

I found the problem to be that AVG was flagging everything L4D to be a virus. I just had to go into the AVG interface and make L4D2 and exception, now it runs fine.
