The hunter does actually bite the survivors, because the two animations can be matched together somewhat.
Still, the zombies in this are infected living zombies rather than the undead type.
Good point! The infection is more of a "rage" thing, as in the film 28 Days Later.In that film the infection was spread by almost any fluid contact.
Depending on your definition of Zombie, same thing. Indeed the thing that is normally referred to as a Zombie (a reanimated, flesh eating corpse) should really be called a Ghoul or Ghūl by English speakers.
So it's not like the infected even need to bite those they go after. Beating the snot out of them is likely no less effective than biting them and then beating the snot out of them.
