But the tank waiting thing is quite screwed up. This really should be fixed by force-opening doors on tank spawning.
This might be the reason why Valve hasn't fixed the elevator tank spawn, so that if you want to utilize the tank in that close quarters elevator rape zone, you have to take a severe penalty on the tank's hp.
That's very similar to what I'm mentioning, which is if the Tank spawns downstairs BEFORE the survivors start the elevator, they can wait it out and the Tank died once control passes to the AI.
Yeah, the instance you're mentioning really should be fixed. If only L4D2 received some more attention from Valve, then the game, and to some extent, the community, would be better. Unfortunately, it seems that every other Valve game comes first, and L4D2 (and L4D) is just that game that nobody wants to get involved with or show any attention. It's almost like a failed abortion.
