Are there any possible ways of setting dxlevel for Left 4 dead?

One does not simply set it through the game launch options. Seriously though, there has to be a way.

You can change more settings in the nvidia driver control panel if you got it.

Left click desk top, open control panel, look for "manage 3d settings" - click "program settings" tab.
click "add" and enter the l4d2 .exe you can change alsorts now and it will over ride the ingame settings : )

Well, sadly, I downloaded the nvidia control panel and it stopped installing, telling me that I have no drivers and it just shuts itself.

But thanks! I had my hopes all the way up!

Given you have a nvidia card, install the latest drivers and it will install the control panel.

Intel(R) G33/G36 Chipset Family. Left 4 dead was running fine. Then I installed Intel Media Accelerator and Left 4 dead became this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ToPT5a_puE&feature=youtu.be

I wanted to change dxlevel, because it would fix the problem.

Many games, like TF2 run fine on that card, around 40-60 FPS.
