Maybe change the way you vote kick. It seems to work most of the time with me. If I notice a griefer / troll joins my game, I notify the other players on my team as to why I am doing the vote kick. It usually works. Try it next time.
your so right vork..... I have a cheat list printed out and it does have that opption on it, although i havent tried it. I will try it when i have someone who needs to be kicked and let you know if it works and if its fast.
Its the host's game, I don't see why thats a problem. IMO the host SHOULD have uncontested kicking rights, but the game should also allow you to name/describe the game you're hosting, to say things like "no rush, no crawl, no newb, newbs only, getting achieve, etc"
Sometimes you'll have people who go idle and the game doesn't allow you to even start votekick, and that is really annoying. If you allowed lobby leaders to kick, then eventually the community would police itself to a point where the kick-happy lobby leaders would all be banned by the sensitive newbs, and we would have less of a "the community sucks" problem now.
In regards to describing what current game, when new players join my games I explain what type of game it is. If we are rushing then i say so. If we play like the usual way then i say nothing. Since most people that join automatically assume that.
Oh wait, 96 hrs on record
