2) Improved Bots. Just what the name says, it makes the bots useful, much more helpful, and overall much more intelligent than a sack of bricks. Doesn't work on most servers though.
3) Any custom texture by either K1CHWA or Miztaegg, be they Survivor or weapon textures. Really high-quality stuff if you don't want a remodel.
4) Custom weapons by Doktor Haus or Arby26. Usually incredibly solid work, ofen with great sounds to boot. Very good selection of weapons to choose from.
5) Any mod by Splinks, if you want your L4D2 experience to be less serious and more hilarious.
Everyone's taste in the game is different, so what is "must-have" for someone isn't for someone else. My first recommendation I deem a necessity as a bug fix. The second is because I hate how dumb the AI gets some times. The rest are all non-specific because the authors in question have a large selection of mostly stellar mods to choose from to suit your taste. Good luck and happy modding.
