"Steam Service Component"

Every time when I try to launch L4D2 it says that I have to install the Steam Service Component, so I click install and steam stops responding completely and I have to close it again and the Steam Service Component isn't installed when I relaunch Steam, help would be appreciated.
EDIT:
I completely forgot about this thread, since the the issue has fixed itself I don't know how to fix it.
