That is not the question or solve this, we're talking about PCs traying game together, in a lan or internet conexion, and I personally uninstall and install the game in all my cumputers and the problem is still there.
2. servers include local servers, you guys have different versions.
Servers may or may not be touchy about Workshop versus manual versions of custom maps and campaigns, you may want to try both. I believe most servers run manual versions of custom campaigns.
No it doesn't. Quit spreading misinformation.
Why don't you go download a dozen of maps including the most complicated ones, upload them to your dedicated and test it out yourself? I'd like to see what you call misinformation. Want to also tell me that having them ain't causing any conflicts and instead reduces loading time in between maps?
Have a nice list.

Here's the map lists for our servers, mine specifically are 3 and 4 towards the bottom.
I've had server lag and crashing issues with certain broken/♥♥♥♥♥♥ maps... Jungle Crisis 2 comes to mind. Besides that, no issues. I've run my own dedicated addons server for over a year now, I've local hosted addons games with the most at 200 or so maps on my hard drive. I can safely say that 1) certain *broken* maps can cause issues but 2) number of maps generally don't cause issues and most importantly 3) map string errors are unrelated to number of maps or any other quality.
so yeah
"Barely"? We have way more maps than what you listed. I removed Death Mountain because it's a laggy map, and I have no interest in playing something at 200 ping. I've never gotten a map string error with either, though.
The map string error is a specific type of consistency error; it looks at the maps themselves and detects conflicts. Maps with different level names, like idk mapexample_1 and mapexamplebeta_1 wouldn't prompt the map string error, but two levels of the same name will prompt the error if they have different content.
An example would be Silent Hill: The Otherside of Life. A while ago I was attempting the map solo, but I forgot that the old version was on my server; I played chapter 1 fine, but when I tried loading chapter 2 I got the map string error. That was because Leafo left chapter 1 alone, but he changed chapter 2, prompting the error.
Are you sure? Sometimes if you upload a map and there's an error in the upload you'll get that error- I usually double check to see that the two files are the same number of mb. I don't think I've ever seen a map string error that didn't come from a corrupt file, old/new version, or other difference in the map content, that's generally the cause.
If you're getting map string errors on official maps, that means you need to verify your files, they're probably corrupted. If you're in with some real bad luck you could have a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mod that ♥♥♥♥♥ up official files, although it would take impressively terrible skill to do so.
