Are there any mature, casual groups for Versus?
Let me start this off by saying I'm certainly not the best at Left 4 Dead 2, but I do know the basics and I attempt to apply them in VS, although clearly, I'm not at a level of extreme experience with this game. That being said, I enjoy the game itself, but the community isn't exactly the best from my personal experience; perhaps I'm wrong, but today reminded me why I stopped playing Left 4 Dead 2 before. The next few paragraphs are mostly just a tale as to why I'm posting here, so skip to the last one if you'd want to ignore that.

Essentially, I jumped into a versus game where three people had already chosen the Infected side; my first assumption of this is generally team stacking, but I figured that it's possible the players just enjoy being Infected, so I stuck with random. I ended up being pooled to the Survivors team, with one player who ended up disconnecting or leaving within a minute and another who ended up being kicked because he was refusing to advance or do anything; the other team demolished us, and proceeded to trash-talk us through each map, to the point that they split up intentionally and were taunting us with comments like "It's so hard to press W!", along with slurs that were, quite frankly, immature and something I'd expect from some rude teenager.

At the last map they did act somewhat civil, and I had been rather angry since they admitted to stacking the teams, since they wanted to play with friends and it's apparently a problem if they're on different teams. The last map had at least some banter that wasn't completely idiotic and immature in nature by all parties, myself included, where proper, mature play was conducted, for the most part. I thoroughly enjoyed that last match, even if I was charged off the roof of the No-Mercy Finale while trying to save a team-mate, simply because it was absent of rude, immature conduct.

All that being said, I find Versus rather enjoyable, but it's incredibly annoying to, every time I play, find some rude, crass individuals who seem to have a need to taunt anyone of lower-skill level like some sort of child. I don't mind being demolished in a game, but when the other team feels the need to taunt you after intentionally stacking them to make sure their team is better built, well... It's rather annoying, to say the least. If they happen to end up on the same team and we get skewered, that's fine, but when they know that the enemy team isn't likely to meet their standards and refuse to play on 'equal' ground, or at least equal opportunity, via team-stacking, it simply turns into a rather childish situation I don't enjoy.

So I was just wondering if there were any groups or players who don't really care about winning to such a degree, but instead play for fun, rather than mocking others who aren't as good for some sort of selfish enjoyment? Are there any specific groups who, while playing a competitive mode, don't take it seriously to the point of deliberately stacking teams with players who have excellent skill and, most likely, a way to communicate and coordinate beyond in-game chat? I'd adore to join such a group, because so far, my experience with public games in Left 4 Dead 2 has been rather... off-putting, to say the least, and while I enjoy this game, the people in it that I've met have been rather rude, so unless I happen to be bumping into a minority while being unlucky, I'd adore finding a sort of community that doesn't have such silly standards attached to it.

Me and my friends have a way to deal with those annoying winning trash talkers. We either stop spawning when we are infected and watch them kill commons while we laugh ourselves off and when we are survivor, we just play like it's an easy campaign. But i do play normally and bring out the player in me if both sides doesn't have trash talkers or annoying bastards

Yes.....yes there are! Look at my profile and find my server IP under House of Hellion group! You`ll be fine there and have some fun with people that are cool and try to make you feel comfortable! Nothing worse than joining a game with asshats! I have no room on friends for now but watch for a space in future and I`ll try to friend you when I can! That way you can actually hang out with decent people for a change :)! Hope this helps!

If it gets to the point that I'll sabotage my own fun to ruin theirs, then I'll simply leave the server; I'd rather not act so barbaric and have such a ridiculous mentality. It's immature to troll, in my honest opinion, and I certainly won't sink so low because some jerks can't act properly online.

I'll certainly consider those servers when I play Left 4 Dead 2, Hellion; I certainly appreciate, and hopefully it lives up to your rather nice praise for it. My standards aren't terribly high, so as long as it's some decent people I'll definitely enjoy playing on them; once again, thank you for the nice offer.

I hate it on Vs when your team mate don't have mics and don't communicate.

I absolutely agree. I'm (considering the time this game was released) quite new myself and so I make mistakes and tend to be the or one of the weakest links on my team.

Some people complain about it, some help me and others just don't care. Someone suggested that I start adding people to my friend list that seem nice and fun to be around - and I guess that's the best way.

Versus is where all the children go, so don't be surprised that 90% of the behavior reflects childish actions. Public Versus is not worth anybody's time honestly, but...if you want serious 'versus' matches you should look into Left2Learn or LTD Ragequit as from what I've heard, they do regularly hold structured matches where pros and newbies play together on confogl or promod, a much more fun setting for versus games. You don't need to worry about players ragequitting midround and instead can actually enjoy the game and work as a team.

It doesn't matter what corner of the internet you go on, tryhards will be tryhards. What I find rather amusing is that they tell people they're good, and rightfully so, but they're good in a game that doesn't matter. It's not as if it's MLG or anything special, so essentially their "ultimate skillz @ LFD2!!!!1!!11!11!!" are useless and their mindset is just as much.

They're called terrible gamers, not terrible players. Sadly enough, most of the gaming community is like that now. Stupid. If they're not good but still as stupid as previously mentioned? They hack to compensate and become trolls instead.

Nothing truly matters. Nothing has any real worth other than what you yourself place on it. You gonna tell me that ♥♥♥♥ like baseball or any professional "sport" actually matters? It may to you and it may to a large portion of society but that doesnt actually make it meaningful or useful. Everything is subjective.

Oh, yes! Mature and always willing to play with other people~ Versus is my most favorite game mode, but it's unfortunate that there's such elitist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on this community.
