Skin packs aren't visible to other players in multiplayer?

Basically, I've installed the velociraptor skin pack, and it works just right - on my end at least. When I play a multiplayer game, my friends don't see the skin - is that how it's supposed to work, or is there something I'm missing?

what he means is YES. For other people to see YOUR skin they need the mod installed themselves

Unless it's a server side mod, everything will appear to you only.

I really don't want to be seeing the mods other people are using. A couple of people on my friends list are using a mod that turns the survivors into desu kawaii anime.

Thankfully it's just the people who use them.

To OP what you need to realise that lots of other players will play this game with you not just your friend, and trust me lots of them dont like the idea to see you modifying main characters of their game they bought (and had it tested and all) to see all of the main characters suddenly looking like pinky hooping bunnies or maybe also looking like zombies too.
With applying mods to YOUR game you only moddify YOUR game but dont have any influence on games of other people. If your friends wants to see same skin/ weapon/ models .... modifications he also needs to subscribe to same mod too. And yea it is how it works only one who used skins will see em none of other players will see them.
Only mods that are applyied from offical game server will be seen by all players none other player will see them unless they install em!

if you play with friends just ask them who there gonna play and download the mods there gonna use and have him download your mods as well(dont have to be all the characters could just use ones you use the most)
