Printscreen button crashes L4d2?

Anyone have any idea on how to fix or stop the game from crashing when pressing PrintScreen?
Not sure why but it always seems to do it, no exceptions. Sounds freezes and game stops responding

It has been an issue since i've started playing this game, i don't think they'll ever gonna fix this.

Idk I use F12 as my Steam button for screenshots, F11 as my L4D one. No problems with 250+ screenshots so far.

Well, I'm talking about the PrtSc button, not the steam print screen button though. :<

It used to happen to me, but I think I fixed it. Something to do with resource management I think. Before you take an image, you can temporarily reduce the frame rate in console to something like fps_max 30 and then print screen. Low settings might work as well but the quality of the image might be EA tier so be careful

Well, since this nine year-old thread got necroed, it's about time for everyone to learn how to use Windows Key + PrtSc instead of just PrtSc. The latter button copies the screen like it's text and into your clipboard (hence why old tutorials have opening Paint as one of the steps). It's one of Windows' aspects Microsoft never bothered looking into until they introduced proper screenshotting in Windows 8.

There's also Steam's own screenshots button, but I find that wonky and has quite of a delay (also stops the game for a frame which is risky).

Hey, it hasn't even been 10 years yet. give the devs some time. valve is a small indie company. cant expect them to have something mayor like this fixed in just over 9 years. but till the issue is fixed, no reason not to reply here if you also run into the issue. I'm sure valve appreciates it that we are patiently waiting for a fix because otherwise they would be working all this time on something we already forgot existed. atleast now they know all those years of hard work being put in wont be for nothing when they bring a fix out in a couple of years or so.
