High ping in official servers

Ping hovering around 510 (until a few days ago it stood at 80). This happens only in Spain and EU North servers. Fortunately in Eu West it is perfect (55 stable ping).
I wish I could understand why all of a sudden.

When I play I never use WiFi and it only does that with those servers

Well you can use console commands and type openserverbrowser to search the lobbies with low ping if you tired of wasting time loading the game then knowing it's high ping

i am facing a similar problem,started around 2 weeks ago right in the middle of the ddos crisis

my ping is perfectly fine and stable when i test it (external sites or from windows) and i have no issues with it in any other game . it ONLY happens in l4d2 (and 1)

basically when i join a lobby it can randomly be super high (500) but i can rejoin 10 seconds later and it's back to normal . incredibly frustrating because it's likely not something on my end for the reasons i mentioned

but good luck getting real answers,information or solutions on the steam forums
