Why I can't find servers?

I always find 3-4 servers, 6 when I am lucky, and all of them regular campaign, I haven't been able to try all game modes because there are not servers and I can't try them out in single player.

I tried to change my download location to central US, then Europe, nothing worked.

I even downloaded an add-on for in-game server browser, but no server pops up...

You use the server browser through the console? Do you go to the Custom tab and refresh that? I'm able to find hundreds of servers, even ones located outside of the US, and even friend's-only games by using it.

No matter what I change the filter to, it remains like this, same for L4D1.

Maybe I need to open some ports or something? It's frustrating, I get thousands of servers when I play CS:S which is another Source game.

try using the server browser IN L4D2 lol, not the Steam server browser.
Open L4D2, open console (if you don't know how to, go to options > keyboard/mouse > allow developer console [enable])
When you press the tilde key (~) a grey window should open up in L4D2
Enter in this command openserverbrowser and it will open up the server browser in L4D2
Go to the Custom tab
Refresh it, add filters if you're looking for something specific

Edit: I realize you said you have an addon for the ingame server browser, just not sure if you check the Custom tab in it instead of Internet, which also never shows servers for me

The addon doesn't show servers in the Internet tab, it shows in the Custom tab though.

Ye I think I use that same addon maybe, Server Browser v1.1? So you're able to find everything under Custom then? Can even be a creeper and right-click to view game info on a server to see if there's anyone in there you recognize. Lol

Okay, so I tried openserverbrowser, and it shows a lot of servers on the custom tab, but not under "Internet"

By the way, the font is really small for the server browser, any way to change this?
