how do i use in-game voice chat?
me and a friend are trying to but to no avail and i know our mics are fine cuz before playing l4d2 we were skyping we both checked the opitions were correct and what not

we cant hear each other

turns out my friend had some settings messed up

Are you talking about lobbies? Voice chat doesn't work in lobbies. If you are talking about in an actual game then check your control settings, there is probably a button you have to push to enable voice-chat, i'm not sure because I use a controller but I think there is.

both in-game and lobby also i was messing around in the options menu and made it so voice chat is always on so i dont need to press buttons but even so doesnt seem to work

Check all Voice settings in Steam, then the Audio settings in L4d

You sure? I've never been able to hear anyone else in lobby and they couldn't hear me. Whenever I asked what's up with that I was told voice chat just doesn't work in lobbies. Even if we both hit to enable voice chat. Works just fine in-game though.

Check all voice settings and when you are in game hold c when you want to voice chat.
