Do you also hear the infected speaking sometimes?

Is it just me or are the infected really saying some single words once in a while? At least when I set the common infected on fire, I swear I heard some of them screaming for help.

I noticed that the infected usually say something, generally a single word, which seems pretty hard to understand. I noticed it more in the original Left 4 Dead too.

I remember reading something about Left 4 Dead and how the infection worked, but that some of the human attributes (Such as feeling pain) still stayed, hence why sometimes, they grab where you shoot them before dying.

I think Valve loves doing this with the two zombies they have. In Half-Life 2, the hosts seem to be completely aware of what is going on. If you reverse their voices... "OH GOD, HELP ME!" "GET IT OFF ME GOD HELP". And you say zombies in L4D2 are now shouting help while on fire. I wonder whats next..

Totally creeped me out, for the first time since I play this, and pretty much nothing
scares me in video games anymore.
This one managed to give me slight goosebumps, if I imagined it or not.

I've been hearing things being shouted out aswell. I've been hearing this being shouted in Dead Center. "Is anyone there?" Is it just me?

I believe it was In Black and White there is a voice that says "Deaaaaaaath" whenever someone dies. You input your name (from a pre-defined list) and birthdate when you start the game, on your birthday that voice will whisper your name.

When a survivor has died they'll shout that when they're in a survivor closet waiting to be let out. Pay attention to your fellow survivors.

No, all my allies were alive at that time. It was just a raspy voice repeating every 5 seconds.

Nope, sorry. I entered my correct birthdate, and it wasn't today. Also I'm sure it was a
common infected that hissed that, and we were all alive at the time.
The creepiest thing was that I played Francis when I heard that.
I might add that we just cleared out a horde (all still standing) and the sound came
from a handful of "leftover" infected. I was closest to the sound, so the others said
they didn't hear it, but then again they where pretty spread out covering the openings.

And finally, I could have imagined it.

just posted bout this. yea. read walls, and they bring up that some can speak basic words. listen to the charger and you can hear him speak alittle.
