Glowing Zombies - strange colors
After an hour of dying in the airport terminal because of incompetent players on Dead Air (Advanced) I decided to just finish the campaign in singleplayer with bots.

In singleplayer mode all zombie clothing which should be white was glowing in blue - like the terminal had black light lamps all over the place.
The dresses of female zombies where glowing green.

Does anyone else have this special effects?

Edit: Verifying the cache went through without errors btw

If you look closely at the zombies you'll see that they aren't wearing the same outfits as the normal zombies, and if you've played the original Left 4 Dead you'll recognize them as those outfits.

This happens only on maps with with L4D1 survivors, it's something like the game is trying to use the original L4D1 infected but is lacking the complete skins for them.

Thanks for the explanation.

I've played L4D1 and L4D2 for quite some time.
Obviously I've never paid attention to what the zombies are wearing.

I thought more about a feature like "Shoot the glowing ones!" than lazy porting of the maps.

Close steam down then start it up and then do a file check.

I had the same issue so i disabled a custom campaign i had installed called The Hive and it fixed it. So i would say if you have a few custom campaigns installed maybe try and disable each campaign individually and test it out. The same could be done to mods that change zombie appearance pehaps.

Ancient thread dude, this was before the Hive even came out

Had this too from time to time.
I think disabling certain mods fixed it.

I've read in another discussion and possible on GameMaps that L4D1's Commons used variating colors for their clothes to give variation, but this wasn't kept in for L4D2 and thus their clothing goes to hell like in this case... It can be somewhat fixed by disabling the "$blendtintbybasealpha" parameter inside the VMTs.

reminds me of the time infected textures replaced prop textures. Equally hilarious and terrifiying.
