Problem with joining a game (Connection lost after 10 retries)
Hey Guys,

i have Problems joining aroung 95% of the L4D2 Games.

It does not matter if its a private Server, a local Server (my own local Server works fine) or a Valve Server.

I opened the console and this is what i get.


(I tried to join a Server hosted by a friend NOT in my LAN so the public IP is weird....)

check internet speed. or steam/l4d2 lag. just wait one hour.

Internet Speed is fine. Lag is also not there. CSS works fine with a 20 ms Ping. Its just L4D2 which is not working.

steam servers suck. That cause lag in l4d2. So u cant join imao

Well like i said its not only steam servers its also servers of friends where i cant join when other people can join.
I have this issue too.

solution for me. it's the +port xxxxx in launch option, have to be 27015 to connect other local host. (or maybe needs to match the local host server's port if they changed to other than 27015?)
net_status in console should show
- Ports: cl0 27005, sv1 27015, htv2 0, 3 total.
if not 27015, then you need launch option +port 27015 to override it. or console command hostport 27015.

optional to block local host by default, set launch option other than 27015, use hostport to change it back when needed.
