Every ported L4D campaign has at least one of these gauntlet events, save for No Mercy. Each one of them comes right before a safe house, and each of those campaigns has a guaranteed gauntlet right before the safehouse for the finale. There is no way to tell these are gauntlet runs because they weren't originally gauntlets, and thus there is no dialogue about it.
Those gauntlets are often rather brutal, as the Infected are allowed to spawn in the safe room and quite often spawn directly in front of the safe house. Endlessly, even if you're staring at the spot they spawn in.
Hey d-u-m-b-a-s-s, reading comprehension not your thing huh? OP says he's not complaining and CLEARLY wrote "it was really fun and intense fighting through so many Zombies".
