High ping issues (help needed).

Lately i've been experiencing very high ping on l4d2 games that vary from 180 to 350 (red) ping. My location is greece, but even then i previously got 70-110 ping while playing online. Today, a friend of mine hosted a local game to play and i had 250+ ping constanly with the occasional retrying connection errors.We switched hosts between 3 people that live near me but the problem remained. The other 3 had normal ping (host had 5 and the others had 50-60) so the problem is strictly on my end. If i dared to host a game, everyone else would lag horribly. Obviously, no background proccess is running or a torrent/download to impair my internet connection. Tried restarting the modem but that didnt help much. Any usefull info would be apreciated. EDIT: Also speedtest results : 29 ms, 4.15 mbps download and 0.85 mbps upload.

If it was their servers, then the problem wouldnt only be on my end would it? Friends from the same region have normal ping 50-60.

0.85 mbps upload. - bad speed. Pls, tell me friends location. Change steam region to Greece and you should create server - there will be no lags.

I know the upload speed is bad, also my steam download region is greece (but it was italy by default). Anyway the game was atleast playable before this lagfest. What can i say... Greece needs fiber. Friends location is in the same city as me, Athens but we have seperate internet providers. Might be my providers technical problem?

Maybe. Try to use low video settings. And i guarantee if you will host local, you will not lag. But friends can. I hope they have good upload speed

Tell me you ping and internet. Also off torrents, browser, etc
play on best av. server. Change Steam region. Create local game. It can help. GL

improved blood etc. can cause lags...and weapons.

I would just like to take a moment to say, if anyone finds this post on google, pretty much every comment Ресс Шептун made is false. Video settings do not affect lag, addons do not affect lag, creating a local game will not affect lag (any more than looking at your left foot will fix a bullet hole in your right foot) He's spouting damaging nonsense to try to answer questions, which may be well intentioned, but spreading misinformation is not.
