L4D2 multiplayer not working

The game works fine. When playing an offline (vs bots) game its fine. But as soon as I start any type of online game, being it a private match or a quick match, my game starts stuttering, freezes and then when I have to kill L4D2 in the taskmanager it also kicks me out of steam. So either this has something to do with L4D2 or steam.

I tried to reinstall steam,reinstall the game, check the game cache... but nothing worked, I even tried this:

But it did not work.

My computer specs shouldnt be a problem since time ago I played it and it worked (Cause i bought the game long ago, I paid for it)
The same happens to Dawn of war 2: retribution
all the other games run perfectly.

any advise/way to fix this?

I joined a few games yesterday, my ping spiked to 900 for minutes at a time. Bad stuff, I had symptoms like you. Are you hosting or joining?

I have problems either if i host or if i join a online game.

OS: Windows 7 64 bits
CPU: intel core i7-3770 cpu 3,40 ghz
RAM 8g 1600 DDR3
GPU: Asus nvidia ENGTX285
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45

I can't even find an online game even if it says there's 100k+ ppl online... Anyone else has the same problem?

Some of your problems are caused by the amount of players, the servers are saturated. But if you create a private online match and invite friends it should work. But for me it's not working, its just freezing the game and closing steam, thats my problem.

I try to log in into multiplayer, and as soon as i join, the game disconnects me and says " remove plug-ins". Please help
