You do know, that the survivors talk adds valuable information about what is happening, right ? I would say that it's the best source of information apart from vision.
Survivor voices tells you about stuff that they find, about infected they spot. They tell you about getting attacked and about who needs help.
Turning it off is a terrible idea IMO and something I would kick for in online games.

It's ok to shoot, chop and blow people to pieces ... but the swearing is too much?? You must be american ;-)

BTW, there are no zombies in this game, only infected/sick people.
