You don't need to bother with xpadder, unless you want to be able to customise the controls outside of the game, which is useful for some other games. This also helps if a game running a program like Unity NEEDS to recognize exactly what controller it is, making the xbox one controller unable to use unless the dev sets it up.
Well you might not mind but many people (myself included) do. Like you said, they don't perform well and are at a disadvantage to a Mouse & Keyboard player, nor would I really want to have to feel like I am obligated to 'carry' someone who can't hack it. That's why there is no cross-platform play between consoles and PC for a game of this type. It just wouldn't go over well.
I couldnt have approached it in a nicer way but thanks for that angsty little block of text made me crack a smile. Have fun getting rolled by baddies while you use an inferior control system OP. Should just break the chain now and not continue to hold yourself back.
