Can't Move or Shoot...

I was playing a custom campaign. After I reached the third safe room, I closed it, watched the stats, and then it loaded the next section.

I can't shoot or move now. I can only move my camera around. I can pause and click and type stuff in the options and Steam overlay, but not in game.

I exited out of the game and tried playing just basic campaigns, same problem where I can't move or shoot.

Help?

Did you type "unbindall" in console? If so, this may be the problem. To fix, go in to settings and keyboard and then click change to custom settings. (Not sure if this is really the things to click, im just going by CSS and Gmod).

Both of the comments up there, they're not helping.
If this is happening, like the custom campaign, did the addon have 2 parts or only 1? If it had 2 parts besure you have both parts and both activated.
If this is going on in the basic campaigns, then i'm not sure what's going on. This doesn't normally happen.

I didn't unbind everything in the console. I'll try reseting to defaults anyway and disabling the overlay tomorrow.
Thanks for the advice, I'll let any other people following this if those work tomorrow.

Do you have a multi-monitor capable computer? If so, it might be that you've somehow scrolled over to your other desktop. I've had this happen a few times myself although not in this game and on older systems/cards where computer designers and programmers hadn't quite gotten on the same page about how programs were supposed to deal with multiple monitors. lol

Otherwise, I don't know what's going on.

**edit**OH! I guess I should say that if you DO have multi-monitors, try setting your video to use just a single monitor first and see if that clears up the problem.

So I reset the key bindings. Nothing seemed to change in the coptions but my game worked again.

FWIW, Steam overlay is an entirely seperate program so it has the means to keep working when the game loses sense of your input. For all we know, the overlay is actually causing the problems, so disabling it for this game is another thing you might try.

You can try to restart the computer or test your keyboard, which may be useful, the last time I was so resolved

Incredibly old post, but still found a solution that worked for me: Check in [Options] -> [Keyboard/Mouse] -> [Gamepdad]. This setting needs to be turned off in order to play with a mouse and keyboard.

Literally if nothing like the code stuff is helping just open your key binds in keyboard/mouse like and reset it to default

Go to options and click keyboard/mouse and edit then reset all and then click apply then done thank me later
