Coach is his first name or last name?

Unlike Tank, he was named due to his destructive, "hard to kill" ability, while Coach is a civilian transport. What are his passengers? Cheeseburgers?

It's not his name. Before the infection, he was a high school teacher and the football team's coach. His real name is never known. In the Dead Center hotel elevator ride he says: "My friends call me Coach."

No. This has been discussed in these forums before, as well gamefaqs forums. And the Left 4 Dead wiki which is strictly anti-speculation maintains his name is unknown.

Furthermore, his face is based on Darnell Rice and he is voiced by Chad Coleman. Valve would not take their actors' names and reuse them for their characters they are playing.

More likely combining these 2 people's names into Darnell Coleman is a thing that floats around the community as urban legend, akin to how the player community assigned the name Fido to GTA3's protagonist before it was Claude.

Or possibly it's something that you just made up for this thread, because other than here, I can find no traces on the internet of even people speculating that is his name, only you. :)

People just call him coach.

There is only ONE survivor whose full name is known, and that's Bill.

If I recall correctly, the booklet for l4d1 says Bill's full name is "William 'Bill' Overbeck"
I also remember that in very rare cases when Bill is in trouble or dies she says "William!"

Like Club said, the "full names of the survivors" are just names given BY THE COMMUNITY ergo, they are not their real names. Urban legends, if you will.
