This site remains superior in many ways to Workshop.
A: they don't feel like uploading it here. besides its not like a tremendous effort to really get your stuff from gamemaps I've gotten some there that the modders I tend to get stuff from never posted here. (I get to check out a new site for mods AND get to see ones I'd have never found otherwise ^.^)
B: File limit: some people can't split their mods or shrink them to accomidate it enough so they tend to upload on gamemaps. same size and its considered one big vpk file set. (perfect for maps and such that would normally end up split into 5 and sometimes more parts which brings you closer to the potential '50 mod' threshold you don't want to hit.
I agree they could bring them here, but I don't have a real problem with going there to see the latest...plus I know one more site to go to for some mod curiocity. I win in either case right? ^.^
